  Tropical Rainforest inspired hotel, great service, well appointed rooms, excellent restaurant!

  This beautiful hotel truly offers a unique tropical vibe, while offering luxury and great service. The hotel is located in the capital of Paramaribo and is easy to reach. The hotel offers safe parking for registered guests and features a beautiful pool with an impressive cascading waterfall and a swim-up bar offering great cocktails and superb snacks (the chicken skewer is really good). The soothing sound of the waterfall immediately sets the mood. The feeling of being in the Amazon rainforest is augmented by the beautifully designed pool-area and lush vegetation around the entire hotel. The rooms are well appointed and offer AC, cable TV, a kitchenette (including a mini fridge), a big balcony, an in-room safe, a desk and a comfortable bed. The Bathroom is big and has lots of storage room and the shower features hot and cold water. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and did everything to accommodate any special request. The hotels also offers free wifi and and a full Spa. The restaurant is excellent and offers a full range of snacks, appetizers, entrees and desserts. Dining in the evening, while overlooking the pool and waterfall is truly very nice. The breakfast buffet at the hotel (included in the room-rate) is also very good, offering a total of 6 tasty hot dishes and many cold items (like cheese and ham), along with an egg-station, different dessert choices and a full selection of juices, tea, coffee and 2 fresh smoothies! This hotel is recommended for both business and leisure travelers for short and longer stays. The room-rates are competitive and offer great value. I will certainly stay here again in the future!

  Great location, relaxed environment and helpful management and staff

  The hotel check in and room condition was a little disappointing at first. The night manager, in a very considerate gesture, addressed my concerns and even sent a complementary fruit bowl the following day. The environment is very relaxing and stress free. Breakfast is decent and the bar is convenient at the pool. Parking is relatively secured and location is close to town, mall, restaurants and more. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The high regards for guests cannot be better demonstrated by the Finance Manager Ralph. Ralph is a great manager, very concerned about guests and wants to make everyone happy. Managers like Ralph are assets to the hotel. I will be going back.

  Excellent massage, beautiful resort but rooms and breakfast could be better

  Premises: I stayed at the Jacana resort for one night. The premises of the resort are among some of the most beautiful I have encountered. The pool is a piece of art and the grounds have large bamboo trees and it is all excellently maintained. Breakfast: The breakfast could do with some more choices, but the quality of the food itself was good. The staff was also very friendly. Rooms: The room are spacious, but the pillows are not comfortable. That is an area that needs improvement. Also the button to turn of the ceiling fan and light is hidden very well. Trying to find it at 1 AM is a major chore and I called the front desk then to ask them where the button is, but nobody picked up the phone... Massages: This is an area in which the resort shines! Karishma massaged us and it was one of the better massages I have ever had. Felt completely relaxed after the massage. Karishma is truly a professional! Location: the resort is located a bit outside the center, but there are plenty of grocery stores and food options nearby witin walking distance. Parking: Parking is possible on the grounds of the hotel and there is a guard at all times which ensures that your car is safe. So would I recommend staying here? Yes, but mainly for the premises, pool and the massage! The room is a little but underwhelming. But overall I have to say that such an hotel is unique in Paramaribo and for that I have to applaud them!

  Talk about a fall from grace

  Jacana used to be a good hotel and a place to hang out but now it has fallen into disrepair to the point where you can barely even order something properly at the bar without having to wait for it for over an hour, aside from that the administration is horrible to say the least. Appointments cant be made on time and employees try to avoid responsibilities instead of just admitting to their shortcomings. Jacana used to be good, now it is administratively speaking just as worthless as most other companies in Suriname. The only good thing about Jacana is their artificial waterfall and the design. that's it.

  The final leg of our 2019 Suriname yoga retreat

  We stayed here from 10/05/19 - 10/08/19. My roommate & I were assigned to rm #302 on the first floor. Pros: 1) I the lobby and the waterfall at the pool area; they both exude peace and relaxation. 2) There were two staff members that warrant mention: Jennifer at the front desk & one of the male waiter/cashier (unfortunately I cannot recall his name). They were both pleasant & took the time to ensure that my stay went well. 3) The one-hour hot stone massage at US$45 did the job! Cons: 1) outside the room often smelled of poor sewage 2) twin beds?! 3) the two female cashiers at the Amazon Nest bar (in the afternoons) did not present with good customer service, seemed overwhelmed & were dismissive. **** Of note, the Spa Manager Alima & the Food & Beverage Manager Reymond wanted feedback and were apologetic
