  Charming small hotel

  We booked 2 rooms that have a view of the danshui river and Pali. My parents had the room with a balcony, while we took the one with the huge bathtub overlooking danshui river. The hotel looks old and u promising from the outside, and there is a flight of stairs to climb in order to reach the lobby (this was the only negative point). Once in the small lobby, it was very welcoming and cosy. The hotel is very considerate and takes care of little details like having a basket of packet tissues and key pouches at the lobby for anyone to take it. On vpevery floor, there is ready coffee and magazines provided. Breakfasts served in the room at your appointed time, and they have both western and Chinese breakfast. We all opted for the Chinese congee breakfast, which I enjoyed, but not so for my parents. At night, there was some fire works going on across the river at Pali and it went on for 2-3 hours till midnight. It was very nice enjoying the fire works while taking a relaxing bath in the huge bath tub. The hotel is about a 5-8 min walk to the danshui old street, and just across the road is the Fort San Domingo which we did not visit.

  This a perfect location

  Pros: + Near enough and centralized among all the attractions in Danshui. Riverside boardwalk starts at the back, old street is just 200m south and the Fort and University are another 200m north across the road. + Free parking + breakfast service brought up to your room + basic amenities + dry heater/ac available + airport/boiled water available. + our room to the back of the building was spacious and had a balcony overlooking the river. Good views of the sunset. Cons: - no wifi - parking is a hassle because its either across the street of further up the slope beyond - by the street so it can get noisy over the crowded weekends - you have to walk a flight of stairs to enter the reception. Don't pack too many heavy pieces of luggage.

  Run down hotel

  Terrible breakfast, not buffet style, room is poorly maintained, Light in the room is not functioning, Staff is ignorant and not helpful at all. Is a run-down hotel and not worth at all for what is being paid.

  Romantic and Comfortable

  Memories are here to stay. Tamshui is small, so any hotel or resort is close to the markets and public transportation within walking distance. This small resort located at the end of the area with a highly romantic name about flowers and water is nice and clean. There's nothing deluxe, not even an in-house restaurant for dining; but there's an attached upstairs cafe with a separate entrance, and a generous Chinese and Western breakfast is included (room-service is provided). The bed and pillows are among the most comfortable ones I have ever had. The balcony gives an excellent view of the Tamshui waters, the island, and the people fishing there. If I must say anything I don't like, then it's the Internet wifi that was too weak in my room --- sometimes I had to go out of my room to pick up a strong-enough signal near the elevator. Other than that, this wonderful resort and the friendly staff have made my trip memorable and enjoyable.

  Love the Sea View

  We stayed at the Luxury Double Room-A type room which offers a spectacular large window view of Tamsui river both at the living-room & connected bath-room. Be assured there are movable window blinds at both living & bath-room for privacy. For travellers, the location is a 10mins bus ride from the nearest Tamsui station of Taipei Metro. When we arrived the building greeted us with the visual vibes of a 1950's seaside apartment which fitted well to the historical legacy of the nearby attractions such as Fort San Domingo and the vibrant old Tamsui streets, all within fair walking distances. Once at the entrance, we needed a little more effort to lug our luggage up a flight of exterior stairs to the Reception on 2nd floor, The building's lift lowest floor is located at the Reception. It is commendable the reception was very helpful towards our requests and the free wifi service will serve any of us smart-device users a great service. Their breakfast was served direct to our bedroom at our preferred time and we had ours right in front of the beautiful Tamsui river view of our living room which was fantastic. We selected both menu option of Local consisting of congee & side dishes and Western consisting of sandwich & salad. Both were pretty good. Coffee & tea was free flow self-serving, available conveniently beside the lift lobby. Overall it was a very good experience and we will definitely stay here again if we have the chance.
