  An perfect example of how to be indifferent and inefficient. the Good ,the Bad and the Ugly

  This review is simply for the restaurant We have stayed in the area many times, the setting is wonderful, that's the GOOD ! The restaurant service is abysmal, in 25 yrs of visiting France amongst the worst, that's the BAD ! Having booked and arrived were told by in no uncertain terms by the manager "impossible", protesting that we had a booking which he then confirmed, with no apology, grudgingly showed us to a table. there were only 5 tables occupied all evening !! That was the UGLY !! Went back a few night later just in case, just the same !!

  Lovely for a quiet break

  We asked for a quiet room and were given one on the first floor with views of the gardens and the sea. The room was very big, as was the bed. The bathroom was a wet room well equipped with two types of shower. We stayed half-board, and while the breakfast was plentiful, it was rather high-priced. This may be because you have to travel some miles/kilometres to find another place serving breakfast. In complete contrast, the evening meal was of a very hgih quality, served in the large restaurarnt overlooking the sea,which is only metres away. The holel, which is part of the Logis France group, is well laid out, spotlessly clean and very quiet. The only exception is that there is a conference area, and participants tend to be rather loud at meal times, especially when the wine flows in the evening. A separate dining area for them would be a big plus.

  Curate's Egg or Cuckoo Nest?

  A place of contrast - excellent location at the tip of a peninsula about 3 km south of La Turballe or a 15 return ferry across to Croisic. Friendly staff, comfortable room and excellent wifi. Negatives - terrible institutional feel as you approach from the car park, odd MDF furniture and hospital beds until you realize the hotel specifically caters for the disabled. No shampoo or air conditioning. A bit pricey in bar and restaurant. We ate in La Turballe for more choice and prices.

  Unbelievable

  Having booked this hotel due to location and photos. We arrived to find access denied to car park as intercom didnt work. Once my wife located someone, the prison gates opened. As you drive around back of hotel, I thought we had gone back to the 1960s and Butlins Holiday camp. Well the place hasnt had a coat of paint since then. Entry to reception from the rear is via an unkept garden of dried up untendered plants and scrub land. Having got the key to our rooms, we entered first of 2 rooms booked via a corridor which hadnt seen a brush in days. The first room had an unmade hospital bed plus we found hair in the sink, the second room Bed was debatably made but was no better. We returned to reception and returned the keys. I said to receptionist looks like a bad sad old b&b and he agreed. Fortunately we found a pleasant modern clean hotel a few miles away. Cant comment on restaurant as we didnt eat there, thank god. Price was 89 a night per room. Unbelievable as I wouldnt have paid 20 for it.

  The worst hotel I have ever seen in my life

  Use to this destination, I love to go to la Turballe. I always wanted to go to this hotel because it actually look really nice on the outside and the localisation is wonderful. But when we got our keys and it inside the rooms, we were extremely disappointed, compared to the pictures we saw on the website, it wasnt what we were supposed to have. The view on the beautiful is actually a view on the parking lot of the hotel and when we asked about the view, the guy at the front desk was not very nice and was saying over and over that this was the view called BEAUTIFUL GARDEN. Then the room was not like the pictures we saw, it was poorly decorated and old, it was smelling weird. It was dirty, and there were hair in the shower and the mirror was not clean. And foremost, the WiFi wasnt even working in the entire hotel. After seeing how was the rooms, we can what was possible for the hotel to do for us because we were extremely disappointed about what they sold us and what we got. Then same guy at the front desk said Thats not my fault, its you that are disappointed, not me. So we left the hotel and ask to talk to a manager so you dont have to pay, knowing that we only stayed 20 minutes in the rooms. For me, one the most horrible and short experience in a hotel. So disappointed in Pen Bron Hotel at La Turballe.
