    Celebration meal

Once again, Lyndoch Hill's restaurant delivered with superb meals and service. Even with a shortened menu due to Covid, what was on offer was delicious. Good locally sourced wine and beer list. This building should be heritage listed.

    Doesnt provide what it advertises

I have decided to write this review because I really dont like false advertising. We chose this location from a Groupon deal and the staff were very friendly when we phoned. But when we arrived the room did not match the photos much at all. The bathroom soap containers had not been filled. The bedside tables were not properly cleaned. The windows at the rear were dirty and the overall facility was very dated. What topped it off was that the bacon and egg continental breakfast included was not available on day one because the cook was locked out by the change of a pin code and couldnt reach anyone to let her in. The second day, the breakfast was far from what was promised. If you want a toast, margarine and cereal brekky then you wont be disappointed but if you hope for anything much more than that, you might want to look further. Definitely no cooked brekky provided or offered. And if you are GF or DF you may be hungry. My husband was given burnt fruit loaf and the comment by the cook was Its a bit burnt, if you want me to cook it again, I guess you can ask. And when I asked for GF bread, the response was I might be able to rustle it up. Fruit was dried pears with water drizzled over to plump them up and butter was available instead of margarine upon request....by which time the trip we had planned for 2 short days with our 18 year old daughter who missed schoolies and a number of other things this year, just about made me ready to cry. I definitely would never go back. Not because I need the Ritz, but because what we were led to believe and what we were given were two different things. I couldnt get out of there quick enough. My husband asked for a refund on breakfast for day 1 as we left and we were told the manager would give us a ring today. No call was received. I wasnt surprised. And this time I decided to write my real and honest review.

    Nanny's tour of Barossa

Biggest let down i have had.I raved to my elderly mum and aunt how wonderful the place would be. The garden is not maintained looked terrible, mum was very disappointed. The rooms looked ok on entry but absolutely terrible, so dirty and considering the covid problem thought would be on top of that. I should have read other reviews too. Staff were lovely but not enough on. Breakfast was terrible for the extra money and milk was curdled and had to be replaced. Dinner there we all had roast chicken and vegetables but the chicken was boiled. Vegetables and sauce was nice. Very unsure of cleanliness all round. We wont go there again.we paid full price and very dissappointed

    Disappointing.

Staff were lovely on arrival, but everything else was disappointing. From the outside, the rooms looked really shabby. Inside they were a bit better but nowhere near what I expected for the amount we had paid. The rooms were old fashioned and definitely needed a bit of love. The bathroom was really basic. Wifi was hit and miss, and if you did want to watch any TV at all, forget it. The poor signal made it unwatchable. For a base in the Barossa, it was ok, but not at the cost. Definitely not value for money. Probably wouldnt stay there again.

We stayed for 20 minutes and left!

We arrived there...stayed for 20 minutes then left! When we drove up, the initial approach seemed nice. We pulled in front of reception. The lady was very nice and helpful. As we approached our room then we started to worry. Dull grey exteriors of the doors to the rooms, with an unkempt feel. It felt like a hostel! We opened the door to be greeted by a musty toilet smell. The room was like stepping back in to the early 80s.. it wasnt that clean and the shabby dated decor and tired cupboards didnt help. And lots of flies buzzing around wasnt good either! The bathroom was in desperate need of updating. The furniture was so dated too. We just didnt want to stay to have our weekend ruined so we left. This is not what we expected in the Barossa Valley which is a premier location of South Australia. Very sad... To the owners - spend some money! Update the rooms to meet the standards tourists expect in the 21st century. Its not fair on your guests to be greeted by such dated and shabby accommodation. So disappointed.
