  Horrific - we left asap!!!

  When we arrived, the hotel that we had booked (the reviews were great) turned out to be horrific and we had to leave. We arrived at 11.30pm and had to wait a further 20 mins to get in to our room, as it hadn't been made up yet! There was also wallpaper falling off the walls. Our room was disgustingly dirty and we felt very unsafe there. We had to sleep with the coffee table against the door. The floor was dirty, as well as the furniture, the walls and the fridge. There as also bits and pieces left from previous guests...so the room had not been cleaned from previous guest stays. The smell in the bathroom was putrid! The toilet itself was covered in filth, as was the floor and the walls. The shower and the hand-basin tap didn't work (there was no water pressure but the little water that came out was stinking!) and there was a used, dirty towel on the bathroom floor. The staff couldn't speak English very well at all, so attempting to ask for a refund from them was pointless. They also chased us out of the hotel to keep us there when we attempted to check-out and leave by 8.30am the next morning!

  GREAT Hotel * Just a Few Niggles...

  Mesten Tamarind Hotel Nusa Dua Stayed: 21st December - 29th December 2017. Superior Double Great Location in Nusa Dua *You WILL Need a Motorbike* They can organise this at the Hotel for you. *** Hotel *** Beautiful Designs Very Clean Great Hotel Accommodation GREAT Pool Small Adjustments in MANY Places would make this Hotel amazing. Breakfast you got Fruit, Tea/Coffee and Juice however it was Bland after a few days and don't ask for chicken in the Club Sandwich as you will get weird Chicken Nuggets. *** The Staff *** Very welcoming. *** The Room *** If other Guests are loud outside the rooms you can hear them due to the way the rooms are built. Dragging of the chairs in the Morning at Breakfast can be heard throughout the hotel (I did suggest Rubber Feet for them so when people drag them it cannot be heard) Unfortunately the Lift was not in use for the first few nights of our stay however the staff carried our bags up the stairs. Because the Lift wasnt working people had to use the stairs which was very noisy due to flip flops and chatter. * HOWEVER When the Lift was Working it was Lovely and Quiet! Because people had no reason to use the stairways * Great Room FREE Wifi not the best connection though. TV only had Indonesian Channels with the odd movie in English - When its Raining outside a Movie Channel is needed. We did ask for a technician to come out however it never actually happened?... Air Conditioning is very good Clean Large Comfy Bed HOT Shower with OK Pressure *** Area *** Based in the back roads. Great Location. A little Warung opposite with 2 Pool Tables and the Nicest Family! We spent most nights playing pool with them, they bought us Christmas Presents! and on our last night they wanted us to dress in Traditional Indonesian Wear for a Photo :) Geger Beach about a 15 minute drive. It was a Great Hotel and we would stay there again! (With slight improvements which I did mention to the Management Team) 7/10

  This is a pleasant hotel in a quiet area

  I stayed a couple of days. The room was clean and cool. The hotel was also clean. The staff were helpful and attended to my needs. The hotel is in a semi-rural area away from the maddening crowd. I will stay there again should I need accommodation.

  A few days at Mesten Tamarind Hotel

  The welcome at this hotel was excellent, very warm and charming. The staff showed eagerness to be helpful. The room was very spacious, bright and airy, very clean and comfortable. It had every thing one needs, a big comfy bed, a TV in good working order although only a couple of foreign channels were available. There was a big desk and chair, bedside lamps that did work although the bracket on the wall was a bit loose, probably due to the fact that the light shade was at the wrong height which meant banging one's head into it on a few occasions. There was a very good wardrobe and I particularly liked the sitting area by the window with a little table and chairs and a nice view to the sea. The bathroom was fine, hot shower (always a bonus!) and everything working as it should. The only drawback was that the hand-basin wasn't in the bathroom next to the shower and loo, instead it was oddly in a corner of the bedroom with no flat surfaces around it to put wash bags. Otherwise, the room was services everyday, the towels changed regularly and the bed freshly made up. It was nice to be given some water on a daily basis and a little tray of fruits (just upon arrival). The WiFi didn't work properly in the room, which was a problem. This room itself was at the foot of the stairs leading up to the breakfast room/restaurant area. Luckily, not many people used the stairs, so there wasn't much disturbance from that. However, the room is directly below the restaurant area and you could hear the sound of chairs scraping the floor in the morning. As for the restaurant itself, it's all open, which gives a nice view in the morning but in the evening, it is very draughty and quite chilly. It is also very dark, due to poor lighting, which isn't very inviting. The food, it's ok but nothing special. However, the main member of staff was very helpful and it was nice to be able to have a meal in the room if desired. Regarding the location, it is a nice quiet area, no problems with mozzies at night, no traffic and no cockerels close-by so you could get a good night's sleep. We missed the lack of little cafes/places to eat within walking distance. There was a small warung next to the hotel and it was tempting to eat there as the food the lady was cooking looked very nice but there were flies continuously hovering round and landing on the food, so we abstained... The location is good is you have your own transport but if you like to walk, the nearest beach (18/20mn walk) isn't very nice, best to go to Geger beach. The main Nusa Dua beach is further on still. So the location was a bit of a disappointment in that respect. Overall, it's a very good hotel for a shortish stay.

  The location is quite good, close to some beaches but the way to get there is very narrow, at night is very dark & no lights. I booked double room via Booking.com after read some reviews & saw the photos but turned out when I arrived they said all double room sold out & they gave me twin room instead which supposedly cheaper but they can't change the price, their reason because already input in the system. I was fine with that but when I entered the room, the floor & cupboard all dusty, I was fine as well to clean by ourselves because the staff was alone in lobby. I stayed only for 2 nights, although actually was planning to stay for at least 5 nights but on 2nd night the electricity off & no water for shower/flush toilet/wash hands. They promise to contact me if electricity & water already fix but they didn't, the staff gave the mobile number but not active. The big issue is they don't have phone numbers that available to contact & if you call them, that's OYO customer service who gonna lead you to many different extensions. I decided to go home, back to hotel because rainy & night, still no electricity & the staff told me to search another hotel because they also asked all other guests to check out & all of them already left. The only good things about this hotel are the room size, and the swimming pool.
