This hotel boasts a 5 star rating! This is a lie! To con Muslim pilgrims into staying at their hotel. Dont fall for their lovely pics on Booking.com! Terrible room service. Horrible breakfast. If you are not an Arab Dont go there!

    Great Location, very poor service

We took 3 rooms and stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. The hotel was accommodating in that they sorted all the rooms on the same floor, though we had to wait for 4 hours in lobby to get the rooms, around 6pm in evening. The Good. - The hotel location is very convenient. I had 2 elderly ladies in my group, and they found it very easy to get in and out of the Masjid Nabwi. - We had a triple and Quad rooms. Both were spacious with lots of space for luggage - The beds were comfy and all our beds were small doubles (4ft wide) The Bad - The housekeeping was a real let down. In the 6 nights we stayed there, our room was only cleaned Twice!! - We had to complain to the duty manager to get the room cleaned, eventually a team came at half past Midnight. - Initially When I asked the housekeeping staff, they would simply reply that they could not clean all the rooms as only 2 of them and 44 rooms on this floor. They asked us to complain to management. - Above situation resulted in lack of clean towels and having to chase daily. Not what we wanted to spend our time doing in Madinah. - Breakfast area was incredibly busy and staff were slow to respond. None of the pastries were fresh and only 1 staff at the egg station with very long queues. The Ugly We witnessed a very ugly scene, which was a first for me. A customer decided to take out some bread and pastries from the breakfast buffet. Most hotels don't allow this but turn a blind eye to the occasional carry out. However, this lady was stopped by a manager and he was incredibly rude to her. The lady protested that she had obtained the dining room staff's permission. The manager then shouted at the staff in a full dining room and even took pictures of the staff with promises of further action. Unbelievable. In conclusion the hotel would be ok for a short stay for its location and price compared to similar properties around. However, avoid if longer stay or big family (where you may need extra towels etc).

    Family visit

We visited in Feb 2020, booked a triple room for 3 days. No issues, we were so well looked after. Was 3 proper beds no roll away beds. Housekeeping were fab and looked after us. Breakfast gets busy after Fajr but dining area is huge so plenty of food and seating area! Excellent location. Cross the road and less than 5 mins walk straight into the mosque to the womens section! Perfect Thank you for the hospitality!

A better option but not at par with some of the close proximity options

I had stayed in Pullman zam-zam Makkah for the first 4 days of the Umrah and the bar was set high due to their facilities which millenium al aqeeq lacked completely. First biggest disappointment was buffet breakfast, everything was almost cold. They would start taking things off anytime after 9:30 though time was till 10 am. Not much variety for Asian cuisines. Secondly, lifts are relatively small/compact. They can hardly handle 6-7 people, if a wheelchair comes in the lift, only 2 on either side were comfortable. Rooms were okay overall. Room service was pretty prompt, a plus point. Biggest plus point is close proximity to Gate 17. It's almost right in front of this hotel and makes approach easy for both men and women. It's a good option but I would recommend Anwar-al-madinah move n pick over millenium al aqeeq

Not recommended as 5 stars hotel

Positive: The size of the room is big. Very close to haram (near gate 17- for women). Negative: 1) very poor internet services. 2) too many buttons to control the lights inside the room, it is confusing. 3) shower tub is old and water from shower leak out and the floor become messy. 4) old bath towels. Housekeeper keep promising to bring what is missing but he never come back!? 5) the same housekeeper who clean the bathroom with gloves, he brings the uncovered tea bags with the dirty gloves!!? Disgusting 6) I have to call in order to clean my room, even I put the sign on the door "clean my room". 7) breakfast is in room , very low standard. We are 3 persons and no way you can eat inside with only one chair. 8) elevators are small and slow even there is not much tennants. 9) parking lot is tight and dangerous. It is very hot. 10) coffee capsules very expensive. It should be free. 11) poor coffee bags and no coffee mate there. They keep promising it will come and never comes!! I hope all the above comments will have a prompt action and be resolved.
