    Previous reviews provide unfair overview...

After reading the previous reviews, I was very close to cancelling this booking: but am very pleased we didnt! Having arrived here - to meet up with our son, daughter-in-law & grandson holidaying here, too - we have decided the nasty, misleading TripAdvisor reviews about cleanliness are most unfair. Indeed, its insulting to the men and women who work at this resort. I think they do a marvellous job under the circumstances. We found our cabin to be clean, neat and tidy. The reference to unclean toilet bowls is more about the stains on the toilet bowls due, I think, to use of the septic tanks. Sure, it doesnt look good, but the stains cannot be removed (we tried). But it has to be said that the resort is looking tired- and many of the bathroom facilities need replacing or require some maintenance attention. This says more about NRMAs commitment to this resort than the people who work here. Does the NRMA plan to update the kitchens, the bathrooms, mend the tread/repaint the steps outside the cabins? And restore the kitchen/meals area floorboards? Because ours certainly needs it. Accommodation at a 2BR, 2 Bathroomgarden room cabin works out to around $150 per night in peak season. Facilities include a good size fridge, convection microwave and 2 gas burners. There is no dishwasher or built-in oven. (We brought up our air fryer and found it to be a wonderful - and healthier - appliance). There is a couch, coffee table, meal table & 4 chairs - but they all look a little tired after many uses. There is also a modern outdoor setting on the verandah. This resort is situated right on the beach and the natural surroundings are idyllic. The swimming pool is heated but it, too, could do with a substantial refurbishment. There is a restaurant, but it looks dark and uninspiring inside. It could be so much more enticing if it was freshly painted with smarter furniture. But thats something for NRMA head office to sort out. Meanwhile, there are a number of things you can do to make your stay more comfortable. While beds are made up, linen provided, there is only 1 bath towel pp and no beach towels provided, so suggest you bring your own. As there are only communal laundries, youll want to limit your time in there! You may find there are insufficient serving/salad bowls or plates, glasses etc. - then take a 20 minute drive to Vinnies at Batemans Bay (BB) next to Dan Murphys!). I found some bargains that Ill leave here for others to use. Youll need to buy your groceries at BB where there is Coles, Woolies and Aldi. The kiosk at the resort has emergency items, but are predictably expensive (eg $5 for loaf of TipTop white bread). Its a shame the previous Tripadvisor reviewers did not take their complaints direct to the reception staff, as I found them to be very helpful. Particularly, Amber, who is so very attentive, Through Amber, I met the manager, Brad, who reassured us about the staffs commitment to cleanliness at the resort and to call him if we had any concerns. So we are enjoying ourselves. Having travelled extensively in Australia and overseas at 5 star, 3 star (some Id call 2 star!) we adapt to the situation at hand. On rare occasions, I have packed up & left places I considered uninhabitable. But were staying put. In conclusion, I am very disappointed the NRMA has not responded to these complaints on TripAdvisor. Because it is unfairly directed at the people who work here - not the organisation itself. And in a Covid-19 environment, hospitality staff have endured enough abuse throughout this pandemic. Final Note: As a Victorian, Ill confess I am comparing the resort with several of our impressive RACV resorts. But in reality, its not a fair comparison at all.

    Dirty Amenities

The location of this caravan park is perfect. Close to the beach and located in a national park. Unfortunately the amenities were filthy. Being an NRMA park I expected much better. My husband reported that the male toilets blocked up and overflowed onto the floor on the second morning of our stay and the floor still had not been cleaned by late afternoon. The female toilets were not much better. Loved the location but very disappointed with the cleanliness.

    Never again!!

We have stayed at NRMA Murramarang before on a powered site and all was good however this time we booked an Ocean Villa for ourselves & 2 grandchildren. These cabins are very run down and in dire need of a refurb. The outdoor setting was rusted with large pieces of metal extruding which was very dangerous. A quick fix at Bunnings! One of our grandsons had a whole in his pillow case and one in his sheet. The overall cleanliness of the place was gross. The bottoms of the toilets looked like theyd never been cleaned and when we went to use the frypan because there are NO BBQs on the decks it was disgusting. Even the shade cloth over the verandah was filthy and dripped dirt on you when raining. Seriously not hard to fix with a gurney?? The outlook is amazing but this section of the park really needs some attention. Especially when you are paying over $300 per night!

    The Best holiday ever,loved it!

Our stay at NRMA Murramarang Ocean spa villa was perfect! The views are gorgeous and the close proximity to the beach was perfect! The beach is just seconds away where you can lap up the sun, enjoy a dip in the water,or go fishing on the beach or up on the rocks. We left after five days to go to mystery bay and left mystery bay early to come back here for another three days. This place will always hold a special place in my heart!! And would definitely be back.We had a fantastic stay! Thanks so much.

Best holiday ever! Can't wait to come back.

We loved our time at Murramarang, we stayed 5 nights then went down to an air bnb in Mystery Bay for 7 nights. After only 4 days, we left the air bnb and booked back into Murramarang for our last 3 nights. Sadly, we leave tomorrow and I'm devastated to go. The location is perfect. The staff are fantastic and the villas are so clean! Our first week we had Ocean spa villa, number 70, then these last few days we were in a garden villa, number 65 which still had amazing ocean views. Every day, my husband has caught fish for lunch! The wildlife is amazing, abundance of fish, sand crabs, beautiful birds, kangaroos, dolphins, sting rays and even a resident huge lace monitor. We will count down the days until we can come back. Thank you murramarang for the most relaxing holiday we have ever had!
