    No stress in Cabo Verde

    I visited the Island Sal, Cabo Verde in August 2016. I stayed in apartment 209 at Patio Antigo Residence in Santa Maria for 2 weeks. What a pleasant surprise! Very spacious, clean, large 1-bedroom apartment. I arrived way after reception opening hours. The nightguard had an envelope with my name on it. Inside a letter with instructions from the reception and the key to the apartment. During my 2 week stay i didn't even see one little ant, let alone roaches! Now that i think about it, i didn't even see them in the street! There was a good functioning Large fridge, very clean! The kitchen included Some basic kitchentools. Very basic, but if you want to cook your own meals, you can! Daily cleaning is included. It's an apartment building where locals also live. Downstairs are a couple of shops. Just opened a bakery. Very handy for breakfast. On the roof a pool with stunning views of the beach and Santa Maria. I'm not sure if the pool is very clean, it looked clean! I did use it several times. This is not a place to stay for the light sleepers amongst us! This place is right in the heart of Santa Maria nightlife! Perfect for me, because i love hanging out with locals in a bar/restaurant. All nightlife and restaurants that Santa Maria has to offer is within 10 minutes walk around the apartment. And there is a lot to do, unlike what i heard before i decided to book my Vacation. To make a long story short, i would go back there without hesitation, and i will!! I loved it!

    Puerto Antigo 2

    A great place to stay, perfectly situated, very quiet, plenty of sun beds and very close to the local Chinese supermarket. There is lots of choice of what to eat and where to eat. If you go then Blinky runs the shop at the entrance. The lady is a mine of good information and her island tours are excellent and the best priced.

    We had a most enjoyable stay Hotel staff friendly and helpful Apartment 111,was cleaned every day Never expected it to be so spacious Loved seeing the Creole singers perform in nearby restaurant,which we viewed from our small balcony Picture below of Cafe / restaurant nearby round the corner from our apartment Nearby beach cactus growing wild on beach

    Great apartment

    Just returned from 3 week stay at Patio Antigo. Really friendly couple of guys who own it. Very helpful too. Apartment is in a residential/holiday let complex with a few businesses on the ground floor (including a lovely bakery). Apartment 216 was spacious, clean with the basics in the kitchenette if you want to cook. Good sized bathroom (shower only little though). Bedroom on second level Two balconies with internal view but outside area accessed from bedroom. Lovely pool area on the roof with sunbeds which you are given your own gate key for, so gather it's only for holiday makers. You have a great view over the town to the beach. Location was perfect for us. Right in the middle of town so a short crawl to everything including the pier/beach. Not for the light sleeper though as external noise can roll on through the early hours and equally start very early in the morning. I would say though that anywhere in this vacinity will be the same, it's a small price to pay for location. Overall a great apartment, in the centre of town and very reasonably priced.

    Poor place to stay

    Not fit for a family holiday. Not clean. We didn't stay one night. We then had to pay for different accommodation which was far superior. We were refused a refund, although the woman in reception noted our complaint.Would not recommend at all.
