  Comfortable Beds!

  The rooms are beautiful and comfortable bedding & bed! To our surprise the cost of room included 2 buffets for the next day at the Triple Crown buffet. Quiet and easy to find way around hotel to casino

  Things to know prior to staying

  We stayed recently, booked online. PM should have sent an email regarding how they are doing things differently regarding Covid 19. If they had given us a heads up, we prly would have made other plans. When you get there you go thru a screening process and get wrist band. Then you check in and are given a bag of ice bc ice makers have been shutoff. Got to our room ALL the way down to casino end of the hall. Room is missing blow dryer, toilet paper and remote to tv doesnt work. Had to make long walk down hall, elevator which you can only ride in with your traveling party, go back to lobby to get blow dryer, TP and batteries for remote. All things that could have been mentioned prearrival or at least at checkin, except for dead batteries in remote. FYI.... pool and Fitness room are closed along with some of the bars and restaurants. All would have been nice to know prearrival. Cant access casino from entry point between casino and hotel on 2nd floor....have to go ALL the way back towards lobby and then can walk main level or outside to casino. Once in casino, every other slot machine is shutoff so we can social distance. All that did was make more hands on fewer available machines. To go back to hotel, which weve already been screened for, have to walk long hall on main level to elevator, up to our floor and walk very long walk through hall to reach our room. Luckily we are healthy and could do it but elderly and sick wouldnt have been able to. They did tell us our keys would NOT work in the stairwells so we didnt try it until checkout day.....they do work. This would have saved us a lot of steps. So use stairwells if youre able. Hopefully PM will get it figured out. In the meantime well stay other places.

  Vacation finally

  Easy to find , check in/out was fast . All the help was friendly and helpful . Huge room , comfortable bed with tons of pillows . Stove , fridge , microwave and coffee pot along with ironing board and iron . Good size bath with plenty of water pressure . Pool and fitness center open but we didn't use them . Casino part of complex so no going outside to get there . Machines are spaced and plexiglass dividers installed . Masks are required . Tons of slots and a cleaning crew steadily working . Nice slot selection and hand sanitizer station everywhere. There is an AWARENESS here so everyone is cooperating but I'd doesn't affect the game play . Highly recommend both the hotel and casino .

  Supurb stay in Altoona

  Thank you Prairie Meadows staff for a very relaxing, peaceful stay during this holiday season. Even with Covid going.on everyone was safe, everything was clean..all in all excellent experience. Thank you!

  Stayed here with extended family and had it all planned out for a much needed fun little get away. We all have kids, so we hardly ever get out and do anything fun. We booked 3 rooms at the beginning of the week and requested adjoining rooms so the babysitter could have easy access to all the kids. Upon check in, we were informed that they were not able to get us adjoining rooms. One room was on a separate floor entirely. We asked if there were different types of rooms that we could reserve that would allow us adjoining rooms, but to no avail. During our stay, the hotel did not appear busy whatsoever. After re-grouping and some brainstorming, we finally got everyone settled in. The adults went down to the casino for some fun. However, the machines were some of the tightest slots Ive ever played on. Myth or not, they were suspiciously brutal for everyone. Our family spent so much money and not one of us came out ahead or broke even. We left the casino and took the sad trip back to our scattered hotel rooms. After all that, our family probably only spent about 3 hours together total before checking out. I expressed my disappointment to the front desk and she was nice enough to offer to speak to the VIP desk and see if there was something that could be done. We finally heard back about 15 minutes before checkout that they would not do anything for us. Nothing. Not even a coupon. An awkward phone call that left such a bad taste. I hate that our little get away turned out to be so complicated, chaotic and disappointing. Weve stayed at casinos before and they were much more fun or at least accommodating. Prairie Meadows was neither. We feel no need to return for a long time, if ever.
