  Nice hotel in Lignano

  We just returned from a 10 days holidays at hotel Salus in Lignano Sabbiadoro. Besides our family (of four), there were another 2 families with children, and for our group we find the hotel appropriate. To be more specific: - each family took 2 rooms; it is possible to have them communicating each other which was perfect; in Italy a 4* hotel does not automatically have great space, but in Salus it suit us; - hotel is 50 m to the sandy beach of Lignano, and each room has 2 sunbeds and an umbrella in price of accomodation ; parking was also free at hotel private location; - it is situated in Sabbiadoro part of Lignano, but in a quiet position, very close to Junior park ; we were first dissapointed by the distance to nice and buzzy center of Lignano, but , finally, it helped us to discover this hotel. Because our plan was to eat-out (accomodation with breakfast only), we said to try our hotel first at the dinner. The result was that we change for halfboard! If wouldn't, we would had been a superminority, as I think that all guest there were eating in hotel (most with 3 meals). To be more concise, we like the atmosphere from this hotel, managed by a family, that make you feel important as a client. For us it was first stay at this kind of hotel at seaside (in Spain and Turkey we choose a chain hotel), and have to say that allthough amenities could be inferiors it is compensate by direct involvement of the owners. We surely recommend this hotel.

  One week stay

  The family who runs the hotel is very friendly, but still there are some minuses which are difficult to ignore: 1) half an hour before the end of breakfast they manage to run out of black tea and toast bread! It might go unnoticed if they had lots of choices but there food assortment for breakfast is really small as it is. 2) if you speak english but not german and some german speaking person asks a quistion while you are speaking to the owners they straight away forget about you and start answering the quistion in german and only after do they remember that they were actually in the middle of conversation with you! Pluses: Cosy family hotel with very friendly staff and clean comfortable rooms!

  Very small rooms for 4 star hotel

  Hotel is situated near nice beach. Rooms were very small, bathrooms also. Rooms were clean, staff very friendly. Breakfast was good, enough choice. This was the worst 4 star hotel I have ever been, sorry.

  When cleaning, hotel location and staff matter most

  I will be short and summarize in couple of words our experience. We have been here twice this summer. Why? 1) First, we looked for location, close to the to the beach. 2) What really matters for us is cleanliness! 3) Some time they have very good offers. 4) This is a family business, thus, they are very kind with guests. Finally, so long you don't care if rooms are small, don't get a pool, a hearty breakfast, and other luxurious details, go for this hotel! If you really want to enjoy a luxury 4* hotel stay away!
