  The Best of "Old School"

  Sebasco embodies the best of Maine in nearly every sense. Maine is an authentic place in both physical and emotional senses. In this Maine, you fit into the environment; you don't try to fight it or overwhelm it. People are real, not perfect. But there is a friendliness and welcoming nature that accept you as you are. That is what makes Sebasco "pure Maine". The location is one of a kind. Rocky shore, cozy harbor, native plants, unique golf course, and architecture that is the classic hodge podge of shingled cottages and recreational buildings that evoke the classic Maine camp experience. Comfortable and unpretentious. If you like new fancy-schmancy without soul or history, this in not your spot. If you like friendly folk who seem to belong in this place and welcome you to join them in enjoying the way Maine really is, this is the spot. We have been coming to Sebasco for over 30 years off and on and it still feels like home and the employees like extended family (in a good way!). Oh, and the smoked corn chowder is to die for.

  Three Cheers for the Lighthouse Keeper

  Our family has been staying here for decades. This year we were going to pass given the circumstances. But Bob Smith posting his messages over the past few months, have us pause. A wonderful place, check, lobster omelette, check, Ed Kelly running the recreation center where my wife handily beat me in bowling, double check. With Bob as our leader, we felt this was absolutely the best place to give ourselves a break! Within minutes of our arrival, we knew we had made the right choice. Everything was as it had been and better. All covid protocols were being followed and we felt more relaxed than we had been in many months. We look forward to many, many more years at this magnificent spot!

  Wish we had found this gem sooner

  My husband & I have been visiting this area - Popham Beach for years, but usually stay in nearby Booth Bay Harbor. This year we decided to take up golf so were pleased to find this resort. This fits the bill for everything we wanted in a relaxing 3 night Maine visit. Our cottage, Pebble, was very comfortable. Lots of pillows on the king bed, just open the curtains for a water view. Close to the restaurant which we had breakfast in every morning, and one dinner since it was toward the end of the season they had limited hours which is understandable. The pub was open if you wanted to grab a bite. The 9 hole golf course was great. We had a package so it was included, we went out several times. Hats off to Bob Smith, the light house keeper & his staff for keeping us safe during these trying COVID times. Masks were worn always, safe distance & sanitary precautions were strictly the rule! We will be back, I think my husband got tired of me asking him which cottage would fit our whole family next year:) but no worries Sebasco Harbor has many wonderful cottages to choose from. Oh I almost forgot to mention the gardens, they are beautiful, Im inspired to redo mine at home

  The Best

  We usually spend this time of year in Aruba but with COVID 19 we changed our plans. Since the time we checked in with a pleasant lady Lis we enjoyed one of the best times of many vacations. The hospitality that all of the help showed was outstanding in these trying times. Being a golfer Myself and my wife really enjoyed the golf the course which was perfectly manicured.Jeff the head Professional was outstanding as well as his staff.

  Great Long Weekend, Many Fond Memories from Years Past!

  We enjoyed a great four-day weekend back at Sebasco in late September, after a seventeen-year hiatus. In the 90's and 2000s, we made one or two trips per year to SHR, sometimes during our annual sailing cruises along the Maine coast, mooring in the harbor, with full access to the great amenities--other times visiting with multiple families, staying in the well-appointed cottages, each a unique size, configuration and location. This trip brought back so many family memories, as my wife, daughter and I introduced our son-in-law to the place he had heard so much about! We played golf every day, the women loved their spa day, we enjoyed a foliage cruise with Phil through picturesque working harbors seeing eagles, seals and heron along the way, and, of course, who can forget candlepin bowling with Ed! We cooked in our waterfront cottage about half the time and enjoyed the rest of our meals outdoors at the Ledges Pub--our first restaurant meals since COVID began last spring! Each evening was capped with a roaring fire in the cozy fireplace in our cottage. We felt very safe, and very well cared for, especially in the midst of the pandemic. We enjoyed this weekend so much that we have already booked the same cottage for the same time next year! Thanks so much to Bob, Mike and the rest of this wonderful team for a great vacation!
