  Summer holiday late season september 2016

  Sunset Hotel is a great location to spend your holiday. You will be welcomed bij Harris, the owner of the hotel. He is one of the most hospitable men i've ever met. What i really liked about this hotel is the beds. The beds are usually very hard in Greeces, but the beds at sunset are like heaven. The location of the hotel is a little far back for my taste, but on the other hand, you get a great walk every day when you go to the village centre.

  Lovely hotel and lovely people

  We stayed here for 7 days, the hotel is in a lovely quiet area of petra with very little traffic so was very peaceful. The rooms were clean and quite modern, also had a balcony overlooking the pool and olive trees, on the other side was beatiful hills. The family who run the hotel were very friendly and gave us some great ideas of what do on the island. The prices for food and drinks were good and at night it looks beautiful.we are looking to come back next year to this hotel as we enjoyed it so much. We would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to the island.

  Very nice, friendly 3 star hotel

  Decent size rooms, also good little studios available. Nice staff, the owner and his wife are very friendly and warm. The rooms are decent with large, good quality beds. Airco works well. We had a room on the 1st floor, overlooking the mountains with a decent size balcony. The pool is nice, beach 300m away. Petra is a good 2hr bus transfer from the airport, but this side of the island is well worth it. The Sunset Hotel is a bit outside of Petra Town, but it's a 15-30min walk (depending if you want to walk to the other end of the town's boulevard), so not too bad. At the beach close to the hotel there are several bars (Yako's!) which offer parasols and beds, so no need to go to town if you don't feel like it. The nearby town of Molivos is much nicer than Petra and is a 10min taxi ride away, which costs you around 7-8 o/w. The hotel offers food which is okay, but basic. The hotel offers meal plans, but you might want to eat out. We did have a meal plan and we stayed in almost every night as we had big lunches every day elsewhere, so we did not feel like the walk into town again, as we usually walked enough during the day. But, if you want, take a taxi to Molivos Harbour, where you have plenty of choice. Along the beach front of Petra I would recommend Reef's for lunch or dinner, friendly and good local food. If you need a rental car, ask the owner of the hotel, he'll get a local rental company to bring a car around (around 35-40 for a day. For a good, quiet, stay, I recommend this hotel. Clean, good service, friendly staff and owners. Decent size rooms, with good beds, small refrigerator, airco (5 per day extra), shower that works well. There is the pool, restaurant and bar. Not much to do for small children, so I would only recommend for adult singles or couples. (in the picture is the owner Harry, serving a nice Tequila Sunset)

  Great value hotel close to entrance to Petra

  This is a very well situated hotel for Petra -important when youre walking several miles once in the historic site. Its relatively luxurious for the price, we paid 40JD for a twin room including a huge buffet breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable but had hot, heavy duvets which were changed for blankets when we mentioned it. It was all clean and well kept with a lift to upper floors. The bathroom had a fantastic hot shower and hairdryer, just what we needed after a hot, dusty day. We are an active couple in our 60s. We parked our hire car on the street outside. Wed recommend this hotel to all ages.

  A nice and hospitable place

  An attractive, clean and well organized hotel, at about 100 distance of beach. The rooms are quite large, the beds - excellent, the wardrobes - generous. The breakfast is excellent, and served in a pleasant, breezy place. The manager is very helpful; his wife is directly involved, working and supervising, from 7 a.m. to the evening. The swimming pool is nice, the bar provides refreshment until the midnight. Excellent quality / price ratio.
