    A must see place!

This experience totally was the highlight of our week long trip to visit random places in southern Indiana. The Inn Caretaker is an amazing and passionate story teller - she made the experience amazing! The tour is a MUST! We learned so much behind the history of the owners and property - would definitely do it again in my next visit. The home and gardens are a wonder of the world!

    Great home and gardens.

Needing to take a break from the city and 2020, the Inn was the perfect place. We spent a wonderful, and peaceful 3 days. The gardens are spectacular ... and more Monarch butterflies than I had seen in years. The house is authentic, and we loved our room and its working 1910 bathroom fixtures. The Innkeeper and staff were very accommodating and the breakfasts fantastic. Finally, the location for walking to see the architecture of Columbus or to the downtown restaurants cant be beat. Definitely on our list for one or more return visits.

The Garden is the best part

I think our expectations were different than our experience. The house is conventiently located a few blocks from the downtown area. Free parking on the street. This is TRULY a historic home with most of the original furnishings, so the rooms are stiff and not very comfortable. We did have a huge room but since it is vintage the bathroom was small and cramped. Ventilation system looks suspect. We had to get a duvet out of the closet since the room was so cold. Noticed later that they had box fan and space heater in closet so maybe that tells you something. Getting in and out of the tub/shower was a chore. Breakfast was just ok. The scrambled eggs were hard and the asparagus was undercooked. A basket of pastries would have been welcomed. As I said the formal garden is fantastic and the best part for us was sitting on the huge patio which faces the garden and enjoying some wine. If you want history, this is your place. I guess it was just too historic for us.

Cool experience but with some reservations

Stayed here for one night. Was going to give it three stars for some frustrating issues but was won over by the breakfast and upped it to four. First the negative. Upon first use of the bathroom, the underside of the toilet seat was dirty with someone else's splatter. Gross. For $200+ a night...that was a bummer to have to clean the toilet. My room was ice cold. I had to sleep with my clothes on and try to double up the duvet. But this is a B&B and not a hotel with individual thermostat. The half & half for the in room coffee was spoiled. Glasses were spotty and not completely clean. There's the negative. Now for lots of positives. It's a cool house. The garden is really wonderful. Bring your own wine to enjoy - there is no bar or cocktail options during COVID regulations. It's a perfect spot to sit and relax. The library has a trove of fantastic antique books in English and French and you are welcomed to read them. Really enjoyed perusing the collection. Something very different to do. The two hosts are friendly. Mike's a fun guy to talk to. The breakfast was excellent and also elegant with full-on china and silver. Something out of the ordinary. My eggs were quite good, the coffee was nice and strong, and the asparagus and potatoes were perfectly cooked. It was a trip using the 1910 shower in my room. Pretty amazing they have original plumbing so that was cool. This house is very authentic to the period, so architecture buffs will be pleased to experience the house first-hand. Bed was comfortable. Ground zero location for what you want to see and safe parking on the street. Very safe area. The bed was comfortable. Nice sheets. Lots to like here despite a few problems that are easily fixed.

    WOW!

My husband and I just returned from our stay at the inn, and we are already planning our next trip there! The house was absolutely stunning, the innkeepers were welcoming and made great recommendations of things to do. Our stay was relaxing and an escape from daily life. Can't wait to return!
