  Nice hotel, dreadful food

  Stayed here for a weekend. Cannot fault the hotel (except the food). It is really clean, helpful and friendly staff, the room was lovely, big and bed was really comfortable. Idiot proof heating controls in the room which was appreciated. But the food. Oh my word, it was terrible. We had chicken wings in the bar (restaurant not open on fridays) and I honestly think they were boiled or steamed??? Absolutely soft, zero texture. Pale looking and in a mildly spice and bland sauce that has consistency just above water. Positively the worst we have ever seen. I had a roast dinner of turkey and ham. Firstly it came on a late with just the meat, that is fine EXCEPT it was swimming in about half a cup full of watery gravy, picture meat in a bowl of soup and you are not far off it. Added to that the gravy was a packet beef gravy ??? In between the bone dry turkey and the not very tender ham was a "stuffing". If that's what you call it. I t was breadcrumbs in the consistency of baby food with zero herbs, flavour or even seasoning. Basically watery mushy bread. The other half had a burger which was somewhat better at least. I ordered a pint with my meal which arrived 25 minutes later with an apology that they had forgot it. Breakfast "could" have been nice except that the cooked breakfast was served on stone cold plates which meant the food was cold before you were half way through eating. There really is no excuse for that. Would I stay again. Yes. as apart from the food it is a lovely place. Small but ok pool and the chap in attendance there was a real gent. All the staff were nice to be fair. And to reiterate, the room was nice. Just don't eat there is my advice

  Very Accommodating Hotel

  I would rate this hotel as "very good" because of the price, parking included, proximity to town (10 min walk), facilities, and professional staff. Emelie at the front desk is very professional and kind, and all of the breakfast/bar staff were patient & polite. We asked for a "quiet" room and that is just what they gave us (Room 223). Myself and boyfriend could not have been more thankful for this service. We made a Leisure Centre reservation for 4pm on the Friday, and ended up having the whole place to ourselves! Grand hotel for couples looking for a getaway and small families.

  Nicely situated

  A very nice hotel and perfectly situated. We had stayed here on another occasion when we were single and TBH I see it as a couples place...not very child/ family orientated. One night during our visit the bar became very over crowded and felt the residents were pushed aside. Would I go back? Yes but not with kids.

  Two nights Break

  Stayed in this hotel for two nights. Was exceptional quite due to the cornoavirus restrictions. There was no one on reception. You had to phone to check in. The person who checked me in came from the bar. He was a perfect example of Irish hospitality at its best. A credit to the hotel. Plenty of parking. Excellent clean warm room. We enjoyed our stay. Would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Killarney.

  Good location but we will not return to this hotel.

  We have just spent three nights at this hotel. Had two rooms- a family room and a double room. We found the family room which looked onto the parking lot very light at night which affected the childrens sleep. The spotlights cant he turned off they said . Block out curtains would definitely help make the room darker. The breakfasts were good and the wifi very good. The rooms were clean however no toiletries were replaced. We found the staff to be unfriendly and not willing to assist. We booked the hotel for its location and indoor swimming pool. On Monday the pool was closed - the manager advised it was being chlorinated. We called reception on Sunday to see if we could get a swimming slot and he said he would call us back which never happened. The man in the swimming pool area was the only member of staff we found to be helpful. The location is great. The food in the bar area was mediocre so ate their the first night and not again.
