  Nothing Special

  We typically stay at Marriott properties when we need to stay near a city, otherwise we are bed and breakfast fans. We needed to stay outside New Orleans in order to get an early start to see the plantations. The plantations are only one half hour from Laplace, as is the airport. Our flight arrived at midnight and we didn't want a long drive. This is one of the few hotels in the area that had a room for 4. We arrived after 1:00 a.m. and there was a group of kids in the dining area and no receptionist. There was no bell to ring. Fortunately we only had to wait a short time as the young male receptionist had been hanging out with the group in the dining room. He checked us in, and we suggested the group quiet down since it was late. We booked directly with Marriott, and I had called to advise of our late arrival. The room did not have adequate towels, or bedding, for 4. The sofa bed is small and very tight for 2. The room was clean and there is a full size refrigerator with a small stove. There is a loud generator noise from the neighboring property, that runs all night. Plus large trucks drive in and out, making additional noise. The last few times we have stayed at Marriott properties I noticed the breakfast is tasteless. Marriott really needs to step up their game. There was no water....we had to go to the water fountain. The eggs are from a package and it is like eating back packing food. There was one waffle maker. The muffins are packaged. The room was fairly expensive considering we were in the middle of no where. One can buy breakfast supplies from a grocery warehouse and provide a better breakfast than Marriott is providing. On check out there was only one individual working the desk and she was involved in a complicated issue. After waiting a while she stopped what she was doing and took my key. She stated she'd email me the receipt. She never asked if everything was ok, or thanked us for staying at a Marriott property. On our next vacation we will stay at another brand's hotel.

  Great!

  Room was clean. Breakfast was good. Only thing missing was some more types of Fresh Fruit. Also, Please ALL Hotels in the World......ADD MORE HOOKS IN THE BATHROOM. A family of 4 cannot reuse towels with 1 hook!

  Hotel was nice, but stuck in the middle of no where.

  We have stayed at these hotels a lot, this one was disappointing. The room was nice and the place being right off the freeway was great. The thing is they are supposed to have a little store where you can buy things like microwave dinners and such. They had nothing but a few ice cream bars and chips. There was only a McD's down the road and that was not a good one at all.

  Cancellation

  My husband made a reservation at this hotel on Oct 31 in the early evening because of the hurricane and had no electricity at his apt. He had left town on Thursday because of the hurricane and came home, which was 8 hrs away. He had to head back on Nov 1 so he could be back to work Monday. On Sunday he found out that the power came back on so I called for him to cancel the room. The person I talked to said the reservation was cancelled. Nothing said about the charge. Then Monday night we are charge for the room. I call the hotel and this person that answered started you have 24 hrs to cancel. It had not been 24 hours between the reservation and cancellation. The person said we get charged and also that the hotel was completely booked. The way she said it was there were no rooms that lead me to believe he could of not gotten a room. They rented it out and also charged us for the room. Shame on them. We will not be stay at this hotel again.

  Great Hotel

  We loved our stay at the TownePlace Suites in Laplace. I would recommend this hotel 2 anyone staff was marvelous. 5. We enjoyed the GYM and recreation activities the pool was beautiful the housekeeping was great. Again the staff was awesome
