  Just right for me

  What a ideal location for me to stay in the TriCities. This was close to every thing. Best of all, it has a kitchenette as I like to cook while on trips with such a tight schedule where eating out would have been inconvenient. There is a WinCo less than mile way so that helpful to get supplies for cooking. I enjoyed the fitness center with it's working order machines. Nice complimentary breakfast but the space was a little tight. Regardless, the staff was amazing, very pleasant and helpful The room was clean and the bed was comfortable with an accurate thermostat. Parking was ample. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would recommend it as place to consider when in the TriCities.

  THAN YOU, SERENA...!!!

  There's plenty to like about this TownePlace -- starting with GM Serena and her friendly, professional crew. First of all, the elevators are enormous (which is important to those travelers with lots of stuff)... the breakfast features the famous TP cracked-pepper fried eggs... little milk cartons... fresh apples and bananas... the fitness room is big with free weights and a scale.. the windows open for a breeze... and try for the even-numbered rooms because the view is amazing. Nicely done (again, since this is our 4th visit over the years), GM Serena!

  Dont stay for any loyalty benefits

  Was told there werent any upgrades even though I could book a better room online at 10pm at night. The place was practically empty. Lost all goodwill with me. Standard rooms are very small. While I didnt plan on using the sofa bed you wouldnt be able to walk around if you did. Buffet is what you expect. Heard freeway noise all night. Staff not very helpful.

  Not taking covid seriously

  Mercedes sitting on front desk no mask nor was the other guest talking with her. Cant stay somewhere that doesnt take my safety seriously. Not the first Marriott Ive encountered on this trip that has all the right signs outside but no staff following the guidelines inside unfortunately.

  Disappointing ... Hopefully just bad approach to COVID

  This was a very very disappointing stay. Management's approach to deal with COVID was very weak and very disappointing. First, they are only cleaning once a week ... so they never cleaned our room when were there. So we did all our own taking out trash, getting towels, etc. Very disappointing. Second, Breakfast was a TOTAL FAIL. They had some cereal boxes and some frozen breakfast sandwiches. No juices, nothing else. And after it get's picked over, they have nothing to restock. Nice young mom got there right before more, and apologized for taking all the apple jacks, but said she had little kids in the room. I don't blame her at all ... she's trying to deal with kids and has no options. I blame the management for not trying harder. OTHER hotels in Richland were offering much better breakfast. Still offered a real breakfast. TownPlace Suites just gave up and left their customers with nothing. Third, didn't offer anything at all for loyality. No welcome gift, no upgrade, no offer or anything. Just poor surface. YES, COVID is tough, but I really think TownPlace just gave up and didn't even try. Very disappointing. Not what I would generally expect from Marriott. I hope that maybe they would do better after COVID. BUT I have little confidence in that. This seems like a "do the least we get away with" kind of place, whereas usually Marriotts seem to try harder.
