  Smile and Nice

  Room is good. Especially receptions is good. But bath a little bit small. There is not problem. I like this hotel. If i come again Gomel, stay here. Price also very nice. Room and bath clean. Bed is comfortable.

  Good meal in restaurant

  Me and my colleague stayed there for one night. Hotel is ok - wifi, good service and reasonable quality. In the restuarant we got very good local potato meal - dranniki. That was really tasty experience, I recommend

  Soviet era

  Dark hallways, no lift, concrete stairs up to the room. Dormitory style small beds with tiny bathroom. The breakfast was OK and the Wi-fi worked pretty well. The hotel is across from the train yards where they run all night so keeping windows closed was required. We were told this is the best 3 star in the city.

  Across from train station, no AC, no elevator, no security

  OK, lets call this a 2 and a half (not 2) hotel, but we were disappointed. We came in under Belaruss pretty strict visa requirements (as we were driving and not simply flying in and out of MINSK - MUCH EASIER for a visa). Because of this, we needed an invitation into the country for our visa application. This meant booking (and paying for) 5 nights in Belarus. We used the kind and very efficient assistance for hotel booking of a Belarusian tour operator. Our hotel in Minsk was heaven! as well as in Brest, but Gomal was not what we were expecting. The windows were good, so noise from the train station was not a problem, until it got hot in the room, so opening the windows was not an option. Breakfast the next morning was not great, but they did have a modern coffee machine which helped ease my husbnds anxiety of approaching the morning with no caffeine! If you are challenged by mobility (my husband uses a cane) then make sure you request a ground floor hotel room. One more thing: a very drunk man was busy verbally abusing the front desk young lady, and no one came to help. I found this very scary, and did not feel she should have been placed in this position. That is why I mentioned there was no security at the hotel.

  Clean, comfy, friendly, cheap near station, but breakfast is disappointing

  Clean, cozy room with heated towel rack, comfy sheets and duvet. It was the perfect temp in winter without being too hot Location near the train/bus station is perfect, and not a long walk if you're doing any sightseeing. It's also just a couple blocks from the Central Market. Well insulated from train noise. Reception staff were all friendly and spoke some English. Corridors have motion detectors for lights, and drinking water dispensers. For the price, this is a really great place! Now about the breakfast. It was just not good. It was a terrible plain omelet with soft sausages and thankfully a small bowl of oatmeal. No cheese, yogurt, or even a slice of bread. If I stayed another night, I would go find something else for breakfast.
