Wonderful staff, roomy caravan sites but a disgraceful lack of disabled facilities

. My first few days were fine as I was across from toilet block 2 and I could easily traverse to the toilet in my wheelchair. Even so having 1 womans disabled toilet and 1 unisex / parents room (the other closed down on the 2nd day) for a park that size is disappointing. I then moved to the other end of the park - double size space was fantastic - but it then took me 10 or so minutes of travelling on the roadway with kids, bikes, scooters and cars to actually get to toilet block 2 in my wheelchair because there was NO disabled access in my closest toilet block, which was block 4. I was amazed that a tourist park of this size and such a well known and widely recognised Big4 name has only 1 male and 1 female disabled facility in the toilet block and 2 unisex / parents rooms The paths were wonderful, meandering all around the park but the crossings onto the roads were very dangerous as the curbs were steep and deep and unfortunately near any family gathering areas or the pool most paths were blocked by sand. Staff 10/10, caravan sites 10/10 disabled access 2/10.

Overrated & Expensive for shabby cabins

A VERY expensive caravan park! We paid $149 per night for a small studio cabin which had ants everywhere. In the cupboard under the sink was the first place we saw them as soon as we arrived and then the bed when we got in it. There was no COVID safe consistency with security because one day the swimming pool was so packed we were almost shoulder to shoulder with strangers and then the next day security werent even allowing 125 people in even though the sign stated 125 maximum. My youngest grandaughter was refused entry into the pool on our second day because she didnt have a wrist band on. Being only 3 years old she didnt understand and got upset so her Dad went to reception to ask why one of their 4 children were not given a wrist band and reception staff said they dont give them to minors that young. We then had to inform the security of this which staff at the park should have done in the first place. The pool is a good size with shaded cloth over it. Lots of poolside chairs were available. Splash park was fun for the kids. Was nice being able to go direct to the beach from the west side of the park. Swiper cards were needed for entry and exit which was good. Super busy place. Great atmosphere for families with children. The cabins could definitely do with upgrading especially as they are so expensive. The Shack Cafe is a nice place at the park to have a meal or drink. Our biggest and best highlight of our stay was Strawberries Galore - a van on site selling ice creams, pavlovas, mousse, thick shakes etc

    Fantastic for young families

Perfect location for a holiday with two toddlers. The okay equipment was perfectly suited for their age and having multiple jumping pillows and playgrounds on site meant they never had to compete with the big kids for a go.

    Rude staff / Cabins suck

Ive come here before and stayed in the bungalow which from when I booked sounded like what I was booked into again .. so I went to the first entrance and tried to checkin and double checked where I would be staying for two nights. I was then informed that I was at the wrong entrance and had to drive further down to caravan park and cabin entrance as I was booked into an executive cabin. Was annoyed that I wouldnt be staying in what I thought I booked into , tried explaining what room I would like to be staying in instead but was just told that I booked the wrong room and must go to the cabin I booked and wasnt given a chance to have something organised as I was just told to leave and go further down the road. As I know mistakes happen I proceed down the road and check in to our cabin not realising the executive cabin would be on old outdated and dirty cabin. For $394.20 for two nights ($197.10 per night ) Those prices also had a 10% discount when I rang and booked so wouldve cost over $400+ for two nights I expect for that kind of money that the beds wouldve been cleaned and not dusty.. the room not be dirty and that some general maintenance could be kept on these rooms considering theyre the executive cabins of this park..

    Great park for families

We stayed at West Beach caravan park at a powered site with our 5 year old grandson. We found the facilities wonderful to entertain him - heated pool with shallow end, bouncing pillows, playgrounds, close to beach and walking track great for bike riding. Amenities were clean and adequate. Site was easy to access into. We had a special on nightly site rate otherwise it would have been very expensive to stay at approx $57 plus $10 for child.
