  Comfortable Apartments

  Clean, well organised, nice but small bathrooms, nice staff, nicely decorated if somewhat simple. We had a nice stay. Easy to walk into the centre, lovely skiing area. Norwegians keep things functional and to a good standard. Its obvious you are in a well organised and rich country.

  Great winter stay at Birkebeineren Hotel & Apartments

  Our family, including our dog, stayed in one of the apartments over the holidays. We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was spacious, with nice bathrooms (two small ones) and an equipped kitchen. Towels and linens were provided. The furniture in the living area was a bit dated and the couch was past its prime. The location is very good. Close to recreational areas and with a grocery shop within easy walking distance. Down-down is also reachable by foot. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will absolutely stay there again when we visit Lillehammer the next time. Very good for dog owners with lots of walking trails near by.

  Dated but nice hotel

  A nice hotel located 10 minutes walk from the centre. We had family room 210 for 3 nights - plenty of room and good beds. Nice bathroom, quiet and 2 televisions. The breakfast was very good with good selection of hot and cold food. Few people there when we were there. The sauna wasn't fired up when we were there.

  Pretty worn down and shoddy service

  It's ok, but not more. I'd expect more for what we were paying. We had to put on our own sheets, turned out this was an extra service. For the price, I would expect that, and I find it cheap and stingy not to put sheets on the beds. Another thing, several of the lightbulbs in the little night lamps were not working. Also, there was rubbish on top of one of the closets in one of the bedrooms - amongst it, a piece of bloody paper. All this adds up to a below-average-ly experience. I wouldn't pick this place unless I had to.

  Nice enough

  Excellent location if you have car. Nice hotel, though we ware located in the far end wing, a labyrinth away from the reception. The architecture was 1980-ish, with the reception area clearly recently updated. Nice but not with a lot of personality.
