  Inhospitable staff

  The week of Thanksgiving we stayed at this Fairfield Inn before our flight the next day. We usually stay at the Hampton next door but thought we would try this new hotel. Big mistake. Have never been treated so poorly in 45 years of travels. The male sour puss desk clerk did not welcome us or tell us in his broken English the hotel elevators were not working till after checking us in. We were not welcomed as Gold Elite & had to ask for bottle of water. We had checked in on line so could not cancel our reservation without forfeiting the nights charge. There was no notice on the Marriott mobile check in web site that said the elevators were not working, there was a sign on the counter but that was too late for us to change locations. We were placed on the 4th floor. My wife has bad knees & I have a compressed disc in my back & I am not supposed to lift heavy weights. Meanwhile the other clerk was calling other quests & moving them to a lower floors, we were not offered this service. With no elevator and no offer to help us with our luggage we carried our 47 pound(confirmed at SWA check in) suitcase up 4 flights of steps. After carrying our suitcase back down the 4 flights in the morning, I was shocked to see are bill was for the full price when the hotel was not providing their full conveniences to the guests. This is not Marriott standards & I will NEVER return to this hotel. Contacted Hotel Manager she did not offer apology for the elevators but whined about her troubles with both elevators out for a week. She offered 10,000 reward points but whined it would cost her but never sent them. This hotel does not care about its guests.

  Ready to Fly

  Great place to stay especially the night before a flight. Shuttle starts running to the airport at 4am. Nice and clean. Chris at the front desk was very efficient and helpful. Nice bar and patio. No issues of any kind.

  Horrible Parking

  This used to be our favorite place to stay before early morning flights. This last time we were forced to leave our truck in a dark, gravel lot behind hotel construction during our trip. We were dropped off at the front doors after our flight came in and had to walk all the way back to our truck on the cold. You can pull luggage through gravel and someone had parked so close to us we couldnt get our tailgate down to load our luggage. Just an inconvenience when you pay that much for a room and get in late at night and its cold.

  Pre-Night Stay

  We have stayed at all of the Airport hotels in the area. The Fairfield is our favorite. The staff is top notch and professional. The hotel has always been clean but now with covid it is spotless. We always park our car here and catch the shuttle back .

  Parking less than great

  Similar to another recent review, we had to leave our car parked in a gravel lot. It was cold and rainy as can happen often in Columbus, and it was not a pleasant experience having o go back and get the car and be dragging luggage over gravel. Nice hotel over and close and convenient to the terminal - but parking was not great.
