  Nice but could be better

  Appeared charming location with bungalows around pool area. Rooms clean and and starightforward although i would not say its 4 star.Staff and owner very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a little bit limited in choice. Location was a bit far from things and you do need transport. Whilst the beach is a good 10 minute walk away the bars are a bit further. We hired a motorbike for 300 bhts a day. Would like to correct previous comments about roads being dark at night. There are actually street lights and it was safe to walk. Stay was pleasant enough.If owner reads this I hope they take on any niggly bits as constructive criticism as place has a lot of potential.

  The Hidden Paradise

  Actually, It's happened to say that, since it was about an hour to find this villas, we were confused with the villas' name between "Anchan Villas" and "Anchan Resort & Spa" which taxi brought us to was not the right villas that we had made booking, after spent another 1/2 hr. we got you "Anchan Villas" The Balinese style with rooms access to private swimming pool, located at about 10 minute away from beach and local community, it's really quite and peachful where the welcome smillingly faces of staff and truely minded services always occur. It was a great and splendid holiday, we were much delighted to have this pleasure of staying this lovely villas and would certainly make a return! "The Hidden Paradise"

  The warmest of welcomes

  On arrival we got a really warm welcome from Tanya and the others, we were given a lovely cool drink whilst we checked in. The surroundings here are beautiful, the reception and dinning areas are surrounded by pools of water with wooden walk ways. At nights you can hear frogs calling. The room we stayed in was a really good size with a large bed and an extra bed, it comfortably slept 4 of us. The main bed was extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows. There was a small fridge in the room and a seating area. The room was beautifully decorated in light colours with a wooden floor. Bottled water was provided each day. There was also a kettle with tea and coffee also provided, all this was replenished each day. The bathroom was a very good size with a bath as well as a separate shower, the toilet had a hygiene wash hose (pretty standard throughout Thailand). In the bathroom area there is a large wardrobe, there were slippers and robes provided in here. The towels are changed daily and the toiletries provided are of a nice standard. Tanya will arrange for any laundry that needs to be done, and both times we used this service the clothes came back beautifully laundered and ironed, if you dont want to use the service at the hotel then there is a laundry right next door as well. The food here is really good, and Tanya always gave us recommendations on what to have each evening. The dinning area is lovely and peaceful with the water all around, at night they use mosquito smokers. For breakfast there was a choice of eggs & bacon / omelette, toast and jam and fresh fruit, the pineapple was delicious. This was served with juice and tea and coffee. Tanya can arrange day trips at a very reasonable cost and also arranged for us to have a massage onsite. The swimming pool is a good size with loungers outside each of the rooms. The best thing about this place is the staff, they are really welcoming and made our stay here.

  Nice little boutique hotel

  Great little spa hotel with only about 16 rooms, Just had recent facelift. Nice gardens and settings, with good staff. Restaurant reasonable only and resort is about 1-2 km from other restaurants /beach.

  Small, Quite, Relaxing and Friendly

  I dont want to ramble on but i want to get point accross. This place was excellent........ PRE ARRIVAL: All correspondence was accurate and timely through on-site property manager, (Thanya) including Airport transfer to hotel which i recommend (cheapest option and an excellent vehicle) ARRIVAL: At airport taxi driver waiting with correctly named sign board. At the resort a warm welcome by onsite manager Thanya and her employees including fresh juice and baggage carriage, then escorted to our room that was clean, tidy and ready with air con running. ROOM - RESORT - FACILITIES: The pool side suite was private, roomy and modern. The bed was supper comfortable to sleep on. Good air con, small fridge, chairs and table, seperate toilet/bathroom/shower. The resort is small, private and so tranquil with undercover outdoor dinning area surrounded by natural Thai gardens and walkways connecting the pool area. Bang Toa beach and shops within walking distance, including restaurants. Around the corner is a westernised shopping centre including a grocery store for supplies. During my 2 week stay i could not fault the staff. Thanya was exepetional, accomendating every request i had and beyond, from co-ordinating motor bikes and taxi pick ups to first aid equipment and medication after a motor bike accident. Nothing was out of reach. With so many options of accomendation in Thailand i wondered if i made the right decsion about this resort prior to arriving. Now after returning i couldnt think of a better place to stay, the location, the room and the staff was fantastic. DEPATURE: During depature, again transfers were organised, bills were settled without drama. You will not be disappointed... Hope my review was of help..... enjoy your stay.
