    Lovely view expensive restaurant

This is up a really big hill outside the village so you need a car to get out and eat anywhere else. The rooms are typical of a corporate type hotel you could find anywhere, in fact I think the hotel probably now exists in the main on conference bookings. The breakfast is adequate not extensive. We ate in the restaurant on two nights, the meals are probably double what you would pay elsewhere, there is not a massive choice, but beware they are very large. Wine list is extensive and the same price per glass as in the village. Service was very good, that is probably because only one other table was occupied on each night, perhaps it's busier in the Summer.

    Needs better management

Could be a great place with a little better attention to detail. Check-out lasted 25 minutes due to only one person processing guests. Breakfast was a disaster, food ran out almost immediately. Dishes ran out. Tables left uncleared for many minutes.Asked for coffee, finally received it no less than 10 minutes later. Really, inexcusable.

    Comfortable stay

My wife and I went to this hotel over a weekend, knowing full well that it sat on top of a hill. Its quite a climb for those who arent into hiking or are generally not fans of steep hills. The view into the village was beautiful indeed, and one could easily see other nearby villages. It was a workout, but we had no problem walking down to Sankt Martin, walking to Edenkoben, then walking all the way back to the hotel. We werent too fond of Edenkoben, but Sankt Martin was quite nice. Anyway, our hotel room was very clean with a comfortable double bed, but the pillows left much to be desired. We felt they were too big and thin. Also, the bathroom was extremely tiny for one person. Good luck trying to get two people in there, unless one is in the shower, which worked just fine. The restaurant was very nice, though I felt the lights in the evening could have been a little dimmer for dinner. Speaking of which, it was on the pricey side, but the food was excellent. We both went for the 3-course meal, which was plenty to eat, and we had wine: Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot that were both winners. One issue that some people may have with their room involved the hotels light globes in the front. They were quite bright at night and bled into our room, even with the curtains closed. Im surprised our room didnt have rolling blinds, for those are all over the place in Germany. The lights caused a little issue with our sleep, but it wasnt enough to get another room. Those that need darkness may want to bring a blindfold. Overall, this was a nice stay and would recommend for others to visit, as long as they dont mind being on top of a hill.

    Good view, bad restaurant

The view of hotel is very good. But it is not valid for the hotel itself. The rooms are very old. The meals at the restaurant were misarable, they were all tasteless. Dont even think to visit this hotel.

    Beautiful hotel overlooking Rhine Valley

The property is located out of nowhere and is huge-well designed and constructed. We had a wine tasting programme. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Great place for walks. Very quiet and serene place. Ideal for honeymooners. You need your own transportation though.
