  Has potential

  I have very mixed feelings about this hotel. Pros - really great location, close to shops, restaurants, bars etc. All with really good reviews. - the pool is always clean and a nice temperature and its massive. - the rooms are quite modern with nice furniture -bathrooms are nice, quite modern - its got a tennis court, mini golf, bar area thats in water, tables and chairs in water/pool. Cons - it needs a good clean, quite dusty in rooms - needs better bedding - needs new towels. The pool towels are great. - would be better to have bottled water in the room, not a jug. Personally I would say the place was new but looked really run down. It has so much potential, it just needs a good clean everywhere and a lick of paint. The bar/table area has just been left and is now a home for the frogs and bugs. The rooms need a good clean, and new lamps as they look old and broken. And some new bedding. Then the room would be perfect. For breakfast it runs from 9-11, which is fine. But I think for the 2 hours, it would be better if there was someone to greet you when you sit down and have the drink facilities where the seating area is.. so theres someone always there. And could then take your breakfast order. As you have to wait a while for anyone to approach you and other guests that would sit down would feel confused and ask other people how it works. On our last day music was playing, which I think is nice and should be playing every morning so it doesnt feel so deserted. Overall, its very cheap - so would be a backpackers dream or anyone on a budget. But thats the only customers its going to attract. But the actual hotel you can see the idea behind it, its just not managed properly and could be worth a lot more

  horrific

  no one at reception ever, sewage stink in bathroom they try to disguise with air fragrance, run down and crappy everything - faucet wiggles, no power in shower, just a horrible experience. worst was no mention of impending tropical storm while island was evacuating because literally NO ONE IS IN CHARGE OR AROUND at this ghost hotel

  Amazing place

  We visited this hotel in mid May and had the most amazing time. The rooms were clean and comfortable with air conditioning which was vital as the weather was very humid. The pool was big and had a shallow end which is perfect for kids or non swimmers. We were picked up from the airport by Ploy the manageress and she was the most charming helpful person you could imagine, nothing was too much trouble for her and she helped organise days out and scooter hire at the cheapest rates you could imagine. Overall the staff just couldnt do enough to make our stay perfect. We were a short walk from the beach, bars and restaurants but never heard any noise from the nightlife during the day or night, it was just so peaceful. Thanks in particular to Ploy and oil for making our stay perfect.

  The worst

  I wish I could give this place a better review, but I certainly can't. 11nights with no value of my money. I checked with the property few days before my arrival if they have a fast and steady internet connection and they told me they do. What I actually got was a room (12.2) that had between 1.66mbps to 5mbps!!! Yes, it looked quite good and yes, the staff was nice at first, but for the first 3 days I couldn't work! I was moved to another room after a sleepless night caused by the bad connection during the day and after they moved me to another room and got me sleep disturbed after 5 hours by the cleaning staff that sat of my porch and spoke extremely loudly! No the internet in the new room (18) was faster, but still not steady. Calls from work was broken in the middle which caused me a major lost of money. I spoke with the receptionist and he called the manager, which talked to me and said "madam, this is an island" (as an excuse for the cheap internet providor that this resort uses) which is total non-sense since I stayed in other resorts that I worked from and their internet was absolutely perfect (fast and steady). Breakfast was not great and the athmospere at 8am in the morning with the staff playing very loud videos on their phone while they are eating breakfast is a bad experience for all whom are not "morning people". kettle didn't work and got changed to another kettle that didn't work and my new room had a really bad smell coming from the shower. The only highlights I can think about is the great looking view of the pool, the nice behaviour of the receptionist and the dogs and cats that walk around the place. But these wouldn't be reasons to stay in a property. It's absolutely not a good value for money. I hope that the owner will read this comment and at least try to learn from it.
