  Fantastic 4 days in Rimini at the lovely hotel Bel Sogno

  My friend Angela, her little daughter and I decided to spend a short vacation at the seaside. So this hotel was basically a shot in the dark - in this town there are hundreds of small hotel to choose among. We wanted something not very expensive and close to the beach. We found the perfect spot. It is really close to the beach ( less than 10 min. walk with a 7-year-old girl, Angela's lovely Flavia) and at the same time close to the main street and its shops & restaurants (viale Regina Margherita). To have an hotel on the main street would have meant a lot of noise - so the bel sogno was really quiet. The railway - not far away from the hotel - was not an hassle as well (I am quite sensitive to the noise normally, but it did not really bother me). The rooms were small but tidy. As we were planning to go to the beach it was not a problem for us. The food was fantastic - for the prices they have I would suggest to choose full board or at least breakfast and dinner. The people - all of them, from the owners to the cleaning ladies - were terrific! They speak Italian and German, I am not sure about English. We had the beach all for us, the hotel has a special arrangement with the "bagno" n. 91 and also there Massimo and his nice wife were very supportive and totally friendly. If you want to go there avoid July and August - it can be very crowded. But May was perfect for us. I am going there again if I organise another trip to the seaside and I warmly suggest to book there if you are planning to go to the seaside.

  Another little gem

  I totally agree with the previous review, fantastic little family run hotel. This is now the third time that I have stayed at the Bel Sogno and would not chose anywhere else. Friendly and accomodating, your hosts will do everything in their power to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. Rimini is best known as being a summer resort. Take my advice and give it a go in the winter. Instead of spending your time on the riviera, you will shift inland and enjoy a more Italian experience in the old town centre. Food is superior as are the shops. Beware, to really enjoy youself it will cost loads but it's worth it. Staying at the Bel Sogno will allow you splash out on a special meal or to treat yourself to a designer outfit as the cost is reasonable. Even if cold Rimini is often sunny in the winter and it's nice to wrap up warm and take a stroll on the beach and walk the food off. The Bel Sogno is 5 minutes to the beach. The bus stop to the old town is literally at the end of the street and for a cost of 11 euro's you can buy a weekly pass that can be used at anytime of the day or night.. Give it a go, you won't regret it.

  A real dream

  The name Bel Sogno means 'beautiful dream'; but for my friends from Basel and I it was a 'real dream'. One of them is disabled with a wheel chair. Last year when I accompanied them to Bellariva (near Rimini) I found Hotel Bel Sogno by chance. It was really special so this year we decided to go back for longer (11 days). It was like going home. Carla and Gianfranco Metalli are a real warm, nice, professional and funny couple. We were received immediately like old friends, with all the needing attention and care. They are always present lightening every day with their humour. Their son Luca is the chef preparing really good home made food. We ate in only for breakfast and dinner, but we saw also the menus for lunch and we were amazed by the variety of choices there were everyday. The quality, freshness and imagination were really exceptional. We were served with faultless warm and cheerful professional way by Claudia and Rosario that remembered the preferences of the different guests, amazing! The hotel is small, the rooms and bathrooms (shower) are at times a little 'tight' but they are very clean with telephone, TV and WiFi and the best self regulating air conditioning. The 'real dream' was also the wonderful and cheerful atmosphere; all the guests felt part of a big family, with toddlers, children, teenagers, up to very senior people, but still having time and place to be alone to read, have a coffee, a private chat. My friends and I travel a lot around the world and we definitely thought that Hotel Bel Sogno was a 'Real Dream': 5 minutes walking to the beach; warm family atmosphere; clean; good food; great coffee; excellent staff; nice guests; not expensive, and very cheerful.
