    Amazing & Excellent

It was my 2nd times to stay there for 1 night with my family. The location, service, maintenance and food are excellent as same as the past. The shuttle service is great as you can take it anytime to travel around the Arima Onsen as a private car. No need to wait the departure time or accompany with other guests. It is a good service if you are travel with elderly. Highly recommend to stay there.

    Wish I could stay longer!

We went to Arima Onsen and stayed at Hyoe Koyokaku for only 1 night. Our group reserved a few types of room, but my room with my auntie and my niece was on the top floor with private hot tub outside the balcony. As the Ryokan is on the hill so the view from our room was breathtaking! There was a massage chair in the room too, but I didn't use it. As we arrived in the evening, so we were in time for the Kaiseki dinner reserved in at advance. The Kaiseki dinner was spectacular and delicious! After dinner, I went back to the room and found that they had arranged the Japanese style futon sheets for us to sleep. Anyway, I went down to the public bath (onsen) and very much enjoyed all the onsen facilities in the Ryokan. The next morning, I got up early and headed down to have myself soaked once again in all available bath area. I really enjoyed the hot spring very much both day and night, and both inside and outside bath. After the bath, it was breakfast time! We had delicious breakfast buffet style. Then it's time to explore Arima Onsen little town and lovely old streets, before checking out. Although the Ryokan was quite old and outdated but service was very good. The building complex was quite confusing though, if you use a wrong elevator or corridor, you might end up somewhere in the building instead of where you wanted to go! So try to stick to the usual way you use to go to lobby or public bath area. I'd love to visit here again if I have a chance.

Not worth even a penny Hotspring Hotel

Totally eye Candy hotel!! Hotel claims to be 5 Star Hotel, but how?? REAL ROOM CONDITION: Very Old, Filty, Dirty. DINNER Buffet: Only fish u will see will be very tiny chopped salmon and tuna that are not even refilled. Other food taste either bland, salty or overcooked!! SERVICE: If you are Asian n not Japanese, plz expect to get kind of service that you wouldn't even get at a cheap hostel. Not only would staff ignore your request, even worse when i brought bloodstain on my bedsheet, Only reply i got was I am sorry (from 5 star hotel??!!) HotSpring: Yes, the water was brown, but had a very strong bleach & Chlorine smell. Would you want to pay $400 or even more per night to stay in this kind of hotel? I really have doubt in the reviews.. WOREST HOTEL THAT I HAVE EVER STAYED IN MY LIFE!!

    Excellent experience

This is the first ryokan/onsen Ive ever been to so I dont have a point of comparison in terms of if one is better than another. We visited this place with a 9 month old baby. They were super accommodating for the baby. There were baby chairs in the hot spring pools (not that I brought my baby in but good to know it was an option). They even placed a table seating for her during meals. So I was super confused when I made my booking because of all the meal options. We opted for the Kobe beef bbq kaseikei. The meal was not served in the room, it was served in a restaurant but we had a private room. Which was fine by us because we didnt want to smell like bbq. The meal was delicious!! The room was gorgeous. We had a beautify mountain view from the balcony. And a nice little seating area with a massage chair to hang after the baby went to sleep. We took the Hankyu bus from Osaka to get to Arima Onsen. Google maps said the hotel was a 3 min walk, so we didnt bother calling for a shuttle pickup. It was a very long 3 mins. Very steep uphill climb...pushing a baby stroller and luggage. I recommend calling the shuttle regardless of how close you are. Overall a super relaxing experience. Highly recommend it!

    Great!!! Especially for Price/Value

Loved the hot springs here, went in 2016, this review is long overdo! Would come back here again, highly recommended! In a very quaint area, all staff are extremely friendly and helpful/hospitable. Had no problem getting around with our limited Japanese!
