  A perfect hotel

  This is a wonderful, small, luxurious hotel in the Khao Lak area. The rooms are stylish, the beach is stunning and the pools are glorious. The staff can not do more to make us feel welcome and at home. We knew we were traveling in rainy season, and even then everything has fallen into place, large umbrellas are provided, dinner tables have been placed out of the wind and the rain but still on the beach. it has all been perfect, perfect, perfect!!!

  Khao Lak Wanaburee

  Fantastic resort in an amazing location. The staff are very friendly and very helpful, some of the best service in Thailand. Massages at the beach are great, the resort is close enough to the town to walk in a few minutes. We would definitely recommend Wanaburee and will stay here again if in Khao Lak.

  Looks can be deceiving-disappointing

  Travelled with my mother and stayed three nights in the Rendezvous suite. Looks nice but the rooms have irritating little glitches-such as light switches that are placed in the furthest corner of the room-a sliding door that you needed to be Hercules to open and close (and came off its hinges twice!). Resort packed also with rude, and constantly smoking, Germans. We left a day early. Tip-when travelling in Thailand go for the 3/4 star over the 5...always nicer.

  Beach Restaurant

  Although not staying at the resort we booked to have a family meal at their beach restaurant on the night on of our family was leaving Thailand. I have travelled extensively in Thailand and visited many restaurants at both top end, and pop up restaurants on the beach but I can honestly say that this place is the worst service I have ever experienced! I know Thailand can be laid back and sometimes confusing but this place has it in down to a fine art! Although the food quality was fairly good we waited well over an hour before any food arrived, when it did the four orders arrived at ten minute intervals so we could not even eat our meals together. I complained and asked to see the Manager, a woman eventually arrived and said that she was the General Manager, although apologetic she didnt seem to want to take any responsibility for the fiasco that was supposed to be a family meal, she offered a paltry 10% discount on our bill which was an insult considering the disappointment we experienced. She said the hotel was full so there was a queue for food - well if she knew the hotel was full why wasnt it staffed accordingly? We were not the only people to complain, several others gave up in exasperation over the time it took to take orders and deliver food! Next door there is the Andalay Bar which is down to earth and basic but the food is far superior and the service is second to none so if you want to eat along the beach in this part of Khao Lak choose there, not Wanaburee. In fact choose anywhere but not Wanaburee!

  Fabulous location and very relaxing

  We visited this small hotel for 5 nights and were in a first floor chalet type garden room which had a lovely traditional balcony overlooking a lagoon and forest. The room had air con and a fan. The hotel is peaceful and relaxing and right next to a wonderful sandy beach with super warm sea. Great for swimming! Breakfast is served right next to the beach. Staff at this hotel are all very friendly and it was a pleasure to be there and feel welcome. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the town with lots of shops, bars and restaurants but a tuc tuc can take you there for 100 baht. The food in the hotel restaurant by the beach is very good and reasonably priced and there is another beach bar next door which is also good. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.
