  Affordable

  My wife has family in Kokura so we just wanted a reasonably priced hotel. This was it. Had all the amenities, close to restaurants, walking distance from Kokura station and it had a public onsen if we chose to use it (we did not). The room was a standard small Japanese hotel room. everything barely fits but it is enough. We had breakfast there once. 500en buffet. worth it. I'm sure they are losing money on it. Cons: they didn't clean the shower exhaust vent so it wasn't sucking any steam up. I ended up doing it myself... Our air conditioner was only blowing in hot air and it was very hot in our room. Luckily the fan option worked as normal and opening the window solved the temperature issue.

  nice stay, has everything you need

  Stayed in Nishitetsu Kokura for 2 nights. Very comfortable stay, has all the amenities you need, close to Kokura station and airport bus station. There are 2 buildings in Nishitetsu Inn: Main and Annex building. No issues with the room, AC was in good condition and bed was comfy. Will stay in Nishitetsu inn again if going to Kyushu in the future.

  a few blocks from train station, good rates

  This hotel is part of a chain of hotels with the same name. This is more like a business man hotel. If all you need is a bed it is fine. Clean rooms. Breakfast is quite simple and cleanliness could be a little better. Location is off main area, but not so far.

  Good public bath but breakfast is bad

  Very close to the Kokura Station. Reception staffs is attentive and friendly. Theres a lot of business people stay here. The price is reasonable, good view and public bath. However the room without the heater during the winter time and you can only switch off the ventilation. The buffet breakfast is average. Not much choice and the quality is bad. Overall I would rather to find others hotel in Kokura to stay.

  Good location and reasonable accommodation

  I stayed at the Shinkan on a business trip. I chose it because it is close to the station and a large communal bath is available. It was a relatively old hotel, but the amenities were enriched and the rooms were clean. However, the breakfast buffet was not satisfied because there were few kinds and the local cuisine was not substantial.
