  We didn't feel welcomed

  This is a nice place and you get good value for your money. But we did not feel much welcomed here. Once, we were sitting in the comming area when one lady just switch of the light and let us sit in the dark. Her answer was that the reception is closed now and therefore she just switch off the lights. Another time in the morning, we said Good morning to her and became no answer. This really was giving our stay there a negative impact. Moreover, we stayed in a three triple bedroom and it was just too small for all of us or better to say for a proper exchange ot the air. So, because of the bad air in the room it was hard to sleep at night.

  BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR SHOES!

  Unfortunately, this was my worst experience in all my Southeast Asia trip. As you can see in the pictures below, as soon as you access the building, you are requested to take out your shoes and leave them in the rack (a lot of signs saying that before you go to reception upstairs). As I am a person that always accept the rules in the countries I visit, I did what it says. HUGE MISTAKE! When I came back later to take my shoes and go out, they were not there. Someone had taken it from the rack INSIDE the property. This was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING to me because if I had given a sh*t about the rule, I would have my shoes with me right now. So I advice everyone who go to this place: DONT TAKE OUT YOUR SHOES or at least dont leave them in the rack like you do in the temples, someone will steal them. Luckily my shoes were not expensive and a bit broken. Its not the value of the shoes which cares, but the situation of not provide a safe environment inside the property that I paid for. As a backpacker, everything we carry is important. So I left the place with no shoes very bad. Secondly, our room had not ventilation (just a small window to the hall) and the bed was broken below the mattress (see picture below) so the only way to access the bed was through one of the sides.. not good at all comparing to other guest houses we stayed. the rest of the guest house in general its ok. Luckily we only stayed two nights so cant say much. The only good thing about the place is his receptionist Anuar who was in charge of the house for the time we stayed. Since the first moment he was very welcoming and friendly and apologized about my missed shoes. His boss was never there and we didnt hear back from her about the incident. She really didnt care. To sum up, I would not recommend this place and if you go, put all your staff in your room with lock. Bad people are everywhere in the world.

  A great place to stay in downtown Melaka

  Affordable, friendly and clean and all at affordable prices no matter the room you choose. Great location and not far from many tourist spots in downtown Melaka. Highly recommended folks whether you're a local or a foreigner.I wish the guesthouse all the very best. Ross Ariffin

  Fantastic experience

  The receptionist Anuar is really friendly and welcoming. He does everything to make you confortable. There is free coffee, cookies and water. On Sunday Anuar also prepared some breakfast. I had a single room with shared bathroom and it was quite Okay. The location of the guesthouse is within a walking distance to major attractions such as the meseums, Jonker St, shopping malls and there are many different restaurants in the vicinity.

  Best service I've had in Malaysia

  Sayang Selalu is a guesthouse just a short walk away from the main hustle and bustle of the city. The staff treated me as a friend and were very welcoming and helpful wihh any thing I needed. Very good service! I had to cancel the last day of my booking and they were so kind as to not make me pay extra or keep the nights fee. Most guesthouses I've been at always made a fuss and made me pay for the full night but Instead they helped me with my transport by calling for busses and finding me the best route on time. I couldn't have asked for nicer people and a better stay. THANK YOU!
