  Stupendous Shivalikview

  We planned for a short trip to Chandigarh in Dussehra holidays. Intent was to have a break from the noise and pollution of Delhi and heading to a place nearby. Since we were traveling with kids, they wanted to stay at a property with pool where they can have a splash!! We ended up choosing Shivalikview as the property has a good pool and is in the heart of Chandigarh city. The hotel is conveniently located near Sector 17 and 22 market and all other attractions are also nearby. Pool is of good size and the water is pretty clean. Changing rooms have fresh towels and lockers are available. Hotel has spa and gym facility as well. But undoubtedly the best part was the food served. We had a MAP plan and the spread at Breakfast and dinner was too good. Seldom have I seen so much variety being served in included Breakfast and dinner but Hotel Shivalikview makes sure it's guests are treated to luxury. Rooms are spacious and cosy and have all the amenities. Overall a good experience... Surely will visit again. However, the best part turned out to be food. We had a

  Overall comfortable stay

  Situated at very convenient location, facilities are also nice. Food was ok though. Breakfast spread was also ok type. In house restaurants gives you good options but then again one may also visit nearby places for food.

  Typical of Govt owned hotels

  Outdated, mouldy, very old furniture, dingy smelly bathrooms, peeling walls,very uncomfortable mattresses. Service was good & location excellent however, as well as staff willing to oblige. Their 6th floor restaurant worth a visit & if the above doesnt bother you, it is surrounded by greenery, away from traffic noise & quite a large establishment

  frozen in eighties but for the friendly people

  have stayed in this property nearly ten years ago.looks like it is still frozen in the time.except the odd paint job inside the rooms.this property has got perfect location but needs a major makeover.the housekeeping staff, the front office staff are the real people who are keeping a nearly dead horse alive.

  Average experience - nothing 4 star about it

  Pros - - Centrally located with lush green surroundings - Our room size was pretty good, which could accommodate 2 additional beds - Housekeeping services were quick and satisfactory Cons - - Non-friendly staff - Average food in their Cloud9 restaurant - Old style and rusty fittings in the room including the bathroom faucets and attachments - Had difficulty operating their TVs which are old styled and connection is also bad - There is no safe locker in the rooms - They have a shop/space within the hotel premises and one of the nights was horrifically noisy with truck loading and unloading
