  Charming and very comfortable. Excellent value

  I spent only one night at Terebinte and found I was sad to leave the following morning. The room decor was charming and eclectic and Yuri, the owner hostess was welcoming and warm. I particularly appreciated its proximity to major city landmarks and freeways yet it still had a feeling of relaxed tranquility. Having off street parking was a definite bonus. If I have one minor issue it is that it was a particularly cold night and the heating function of the airconditioning unit did not seem to work. Staying warm meant staying in the bed and bathroom visits were rather nippy.

  5 star service & care

  The bed was old and too soft for my taste. It was only comfortable the first of my 3 nights as I was tired upon arrival. Although I booked a room with a "bathtub and shower", the shower situation was quite uncomfortable. I thought I was coordinated enough to have a decent shower but I still got everything in the bathroom wet. I also wasted water and felt cold as I had to put the shower stick down so I could lather up with soap. If this were my bathroom, I'd prefer a wall mount for the shower stick and possibly a curtain. My title for this review comes from the warm hospitality I got during every moment I was a guest. Upon mentioning a problem with an item in the bathroom, it was immediately replaced. The full breakfast was very well cooked and presented. I paid Gerhard a little to drop me at the stadium to do the climbing tour and see the first Saturday of the month market. He invited me along to watch an exciting rugby game while he did his photography job. I also paid a fair fee for him to bring me to the airport. Gerhard and Yuri are fantastic hosts! Despite the lack of comfort with the bed and shower, I would never be able to say enough about how friendly, accommodating, and caring they are! They are two true gems who work very hard to run a B&B.

  The place to stay

  Terebinte Guesthouse is one of the guesthouses in South Africa I will always return to. I'm doing a lot of business travels throughout South Africa and always return to stay with them. Gerhard and his team (consisting of his Dad and Mom) is an absolute pleasure and always friendly. I prefer the bottom house. Highly recommended.

  great choice

  we spent 3 nights at Terebinte.Yuri and Gerhard are the most charming and perfect hosts.Centrally situated and close to all amenities.Breakfast served was great. you can order at a time that suits you.Room was clean and the furniture and decor is really something to see.Off street parking available.The staff are very friendly and Yuri really goes the extra mile.would definitely return and recommend .To sum up.A hidden little jewel.

  Lovely stay

  I would highly recommend anyone to stay at Terebinte guesthouse. The friendly owners Gerhard and Yuri makes you feel right at home. The rooms are unique and beautifully decorated. I just love the antique furniture and the artwork in each room. By far the best place to stay when visiting Durban.
