  Not ideal for backpackers

  Firstly, the location for the train station is great! Just a short walk away, so if you're just passing through then this place is probably ideal. However, I found the kitchen under equipped, no kettle or toaster for example. I couldn't see the free tea and coffee that was mentioned by another reviewer. Staff were friendly but seemed disinterested in general. I arrived at 6am from my train and was made to feel like I had arrived in the middle of the night. I left the hostel for one night for a day trip to Lake Baikal and despite labelling my food in the fridge came back to find most of it gone. Overall not a great experience and I'm sure there are more welcoming hostels in the area. But like I said can't be beaten for location.

  Worth every ruble!

  Close to transportation. Nice and caring staff that try to learn little English and help in every thing!! Free using the washing machine. Really equipped and comfortable kitchen. I feel there safe and recommend especially because of the helping staff.

  Lo recomiendo!

  Hostel económico de excelentes instalaciones, modernas, limpias y muy acogedor. La persona encargada tenia muy buena disposición a ayudar en la compra de tickets y hacer contactos que le pedia. Hablas inglés medio, suficiente para comunicarse adecuadamente. Buena ubicación, a pasos de la estación de buses. Pagué 900 rublos y sali absolutamente conforme. Volvería!

  The best place in Irkustk!!!!!!!!!!!!

  First of all, thank you again Julia for all your help! She is by far the most amazing woman and receptionist that I ever met in my whole life! She helped me with many things. Even when I had problems with my visa and had to come back to Irkustk, she let me stay for a bit in the hostel, warm and with the change (and charge the phone) to use WiFi to communicate with my family and friends and see what to do. Her english is perfect and she has a beautiful energy and smile that calmed me down and I will always appreciate her and have her in my thoughts! Second and most important for the next visitors: the place is really near the train station, only 5 min walking, so if you are tired from a long transiberian train trip or you will need to catch one earlier in the morning and you don't want to miss it, THIS IS YOUR PLACE! The quality is perfect, all brand new and modern style, very very clean rooms and bathrooms, with a comfortable clean kitchen with all what you will need to cook and eat sitting down, fridge and washer machine. Is a small and really cute place, with three main dorms and even a small living room with TV. And good WiFi! Everything that you need is there and although you don't have a personal key, they are 24h ready to open the door or answer the phone, really committed stuff! No alcohol inside or smoking, which is fair enough, rooms are warm and even borrow you a small towel. The price is really fair for what they offer. What else do you need? This is the best hostel near a station you can get! I highly recommend this hostel! Just as a tip to make them easier to find, put light on the outside, so people can see better the lettering of the hostel. Thanks again and wish you well!

  Convenient place in Irkutsk

  We stayed one night as it was close to the train station and we were doing the trans Siberian. It is a nice hostel, clean and modern. The staff were nice and it is well located for some good restaraunts and bars. We would stay again.
