    Very good place to be

My group of 6 people stayed at this hotel. We had 2 ensuite rooms with 3 very comfortable clean beds. The bathroom was nice and clean with daily fresh towels. The hot shower was lovely. The buffet breakfast served in the restaurant was very good. One may eat as much as you can. Right in front of the hotel is the tram stop directly to the city centre. My group was very enthousiastic about my choice of this hotel. I stayed in this hotel a year previously with a much bigger group so I knew this place was very good. Staff is extremly helpfull.

very good for short weekend stay

Quite remote, outside of downtown location is compensated by good service, easy and fast public transportation (tram#22) and good price. Food: we had only breakfasts. They were OK. There was nothing special but enough to start a day. Room was quiet and clean. First day we walked to Karlov bridge that took about 40 min. Other days we use a tram #22. It is easy and fast way to get up that long hill. Beds were OK as for budget hotel. Front desk is helpful. You can buy tickets for public transport and get advice on getting around.

    Minimal but OK

The hotel is simple, but it is ok for sleeping and having a bath. The tram stop is so near so it is easy to reach the castle and the old town. The staff is nice, the only problem that they don't speak english well. For the price it is an absolutley correct hotel.

    Back to the 80's

Well, where to start? This was my worst hotel experience so far! As they claim to be a 3* hotel, I was expecting a 3* hotel, but I have no idea, how could they get even 1*! The location is OK, but it's about 15minutes tram journey far from the historical centre. The tram stops basically in front of the hotel, so I didn't mind it that much. This must be an apartments block in the past, I think, as the entrance is a narrow corridor and the reception itself is just a hole, didn't have a hotel feeling at all. Plus there are still private apartments, with separate post boxes as well, so the building is not only for the hotel! On the ground floor is a chemistry shop, DM, where they had reconstructions, so every morning (saturday, sunday and monday) we woke up for drilling, hammering, clamping sounds, as our room was on the first floor, the noise was very disturbing! Can you imagine, you are on holidays, escaping away from the getting up early to your workplace, you enjoy a bit of Prague's nightlife, and you wake up at weekends a 7:30 for loud, disturbing noise of a reconstruction! There is no lobby, no living room, no place in the hotel to meet other guests! The room itself is poor, very old fashioned, at least 30 years old partly damaged furniture, very basic, no TV, no desk, no kettle to have a cup of tee... I've never been to a 3* hotel before without these facilities... Bathroom: it's poor too, during our 3 night stay we killed there 5 crowling bugs, latin name Lepisma saccharina, google it if you want to know. The shower was a disaster, you couldn't set just a simple warm water, only too hot or ice cold! Absolutely not acceptable in a 3* hotel! The breakfast room was in the sub floor, as -I've mentioned earlier- the ground floor was the part of the shop. The room was OK, no hot breakfast though, but you could choose from 2 types of ham and paté, one kind of salami and cheese, and cold halves of boiled eggs. Plus butter, jam, 3 types of flakes (classic corn flakes, chocolate balls and fruit muesli) with milk or white yoghurt. Apples were free to take, and some cakes as well, what you can buy in any shops, so they didn't cook or bake there anything! Orange juice from sirup, so it wasn't a juice, just a lemonade with orange flavour, there were a coffee machine as well, which made a terrible tasting coffe or even a cappuccino -at least they called it like that, I would call it maybe a lightly coloured water with a very skimmed similar to the milch thing... The receptionist: was a real weirdo, maybe he thought, he was funny, but he was actually rude and arrogant! His style talking to you was very supercilious. We went out to the city, gave him the keys (this was the request to leave your keys in the reception), he was on his cigarette break, and told me, we supposed to leave that day, checkout, but actually we had another night booked and paid already, so I told him he was wrong, but he replied arrogantly, that he is going to verify this! Of course we were right, but he never apologized! I was worried all day if there was a mistake in booking and we might not have a room for the night! The other receptionists were OK. Positive thing is, that they had free wifi in the rooms. More advantages I can't really say... I would never come back to this hotel, as I prefer the 3* cathegory if I want to stay in a 3*! Thanks for reading!
