If you like to eat on your holiday AVOID this hotel

To be fair, and this is probably the only point at which I can say good things, the hotel is right on the beach and the views are brilliant and for a quiet holiday if there was a complete change of management this could be a dream destination. The food is the worst possible, if you don't eat it now it will be back at your next meal, it is stone cold even if you are first in the queue. There is one meat dish like it or lump it with the emphasis on LUMP! The rooms are cleaned once a day, i.e. if you put something in the bin it may be removed! No change of towels or bedding. No transport is laid on to take you into Turunc the delightful resort just three miles away. No representative has visited and, believe it or not, there is no one there to sell the delightful boat trips which are available all around the bays and islands nearby. As I said at the start, with a complete change of management this delightful and well apportioned hotel could be a little paradise. Best not to mention the beachside toilets!!! I'm not exactly looking forward to going home on Saturday but it will be the end of an experience I have no plans to repeat. Why didn't I read this before I came. I've had many holidays in foreign lands and this will stay with me for some time, not in a good way. Finally, please don't blame Turkey, this has to be an abysmal exception and the country is so delightful otherwise I will be back, but not here!! Comments in the list below relate to what this hotel COULD BE.

    Love the Verano

We have just spent another 2 weeks at the Verano and enjoyed it once again. The rooms are a good size and clean with fabulous views. The area is lovely and quiet, it is NOT Marmaris, it is kumlubluk which is 15mins on dolmus from Turunc. The all inclusive food is Turkish and ok. The beach bar is lovely, and the beach quiet. A good quiet basic all inclusive hotel. X

Well for one they told us that the safe was for free because I asked and the manager said yes and the air con we paid for but at the end of our holiday she said to us 15 pound to keep the room on 100 pound for the safe for 2 weeks its a joke all they want is money money and money and the shop next door is a rip off she gets all different prices for the same thing I will never ever come back here again and there is no entertainment at all

    Let's be honest here

Season starts in May so May half term was really quiet. For 4 days we were the only guests. You'd like to think that having the staff to ourselves would make for a perfect holiday! Obviously this was once a fab place and could be again with a bit of money and dedication. Rooms were clean enough on arrival but just tickled over during the week. Some things were broken but didn't ruin our holiday. Restaurant staff were pretty clueless and basics like changing tablecloths and brushing the floor weren't thought about until pointed out. I think they sleep beneath the restaurant and only emerged when they heard us on a morning. Breakfast was bread, cheese, spam, jams and a bit of veg. Meat and cheese on same plate and turned out each day. Butter was out of date by 6 months! Cheese was a bit ropey by end of week. Lunch was then 1-2 and a set menu was brought to you so if you didn't like it, tough. Same for evening meal. Coffee and cake 5-7 at the beach bar (Turkish biscuits). Staff(owners daughter, lovely) tried their best and baked us cake a couple of days. Drinks were very basic but the only thing constant. Pool was lovely but must be a nightmare when hotel is full. A few safety issues around the pool but as our kids are older, knew what to avoid. There is such a laid back attitude here. My husband and I just dreamed of how it would look with some cash and hard work. Struggled with only a handful of guests to keep clean. Turkish hols start middle of June when hotel gets full so I do not know how they manage and can understand previous reviews under these conditions. No buses this time of year but an hours walk with the kids took us to pretty Turunc then a taxi back for £7.50.
