  Great accommodation

  This is a lovely property. The location is excellent and the owner gave us plenty of tips when we checked in about where to go in Lucca. The room was large and well equipped and was cleaned to a high standard. Breakfast was decent and in a lovely room as well. This all rolled in with a very reasonable price made it an excellent visit.

  Clean, but noisy

  This hotel is located close to a major roudabout just outside the city wall. I found it noisy at night, both from traffic noise outside and from other guests coming and going inside, as the front door slams loudly and the corridor is tiled, so noise is amplified at night.

  The Wedding Weekend

  Cousins wedding outside Lucca brought us here. Much research and we found ourselves at Villa Anna. Its very rustic. Like an older mansion but nicely appointed. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms updated. There is an upstairs patio great for a wine and cheese happy hour or a cigar and a brandy. No light up there at night. iPhone to rescue lol. Max, the owner, is very pleasant but not great English. The breakfast was large but more continental than anything else. There were hard-boiled eggs but no other fresh egg dishes. The cakes, juices, bread, cheese, salumeri all very good. Yogurt and cereal available as well. You wont go hungry. A few minor disappointments. A self user coffee or teapot would be nice. There were no tissues available. If you miss the housekeeper you lose. She doesnt come back. There are no artificial sweeteners and there is no alternative other than whole milk. There is a smoking area and the property is pet friendly. Nice things: Off street parking - but be a good driver - the gate barely makes takes a standard size car. Privacy. Quiet in spite of abundant street noise. Beds comfortable. Rooms clean. Then Peggy. Shes an adorable spaniel whos great company. I wanted to take her home. There was a shortage of hangers but no big deal. I enjoyed my stay and would come back.

  Lovely B&B

  Enjoyed our stay at this B&B, the staff couldn't have been more helpful. There is parking at the back down a very narrow alley, it is a tight squeeze but we had an estate car and managed it ok. The bed was comfortable, bedroom and bathroom clean and tidy and nicely decorated. The breakfast was plentiful and there is a lovely spaniel that lives there though I love dogs and have dogs of my own, I wasn't keen on it begging for food while I ate my breakfast. The only downside for us was that we were at the front of the building on the ground floor and hadn't realised what a main road the B&B was on. There was constant very loud traffic noise, so if you wanted to have the windows open for fresh air, it was incredibly noisy. With the shutters and windows closed at night and wearing earplugs, we slept fine, so it was more annoying if we were in the room during the day or when I was ill and wanted to sleep in the afternoon. Location was very good just outside the east gate. Overall, I would definitely stay again but would request an upstairs room at the back of the property.

  Modern charm just outside the wall

  This boutique hotel was perfect for our one-night stay in Lucca. Free parking (gated) and an easy walk to the walled city. The manager accommodated our early check-in and was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was beautifully decorated and very spacious. It provided all necessary toiletries. Very clean. When we return to Lucca we will definitely come back. Breakfast was standard but in a very bright, clean, breakfast room.
