Not worth the moneyMy fiance and I stayed at The Atlantic House Inn for the first time last weekend. Check-in was supposed to be by 8PM. Around 6:00PM I received a phone call from the receptionist saying he was leaving early for the night and was leaving our key in the desk drawer for us. Please note: THIS HOTEL DOES NOT OFFER ON SITE PARKING. You must use metered parking which costs $15 per day. Being first time guests here, we found it difficult to find the main entrance. There were no signs directing guests where to go. Once we found the entrance I had to go through the receptionist's desk to find our room key which was very strange. We thought the room was nice but small for the price we paid. Our bathroom had a jacuzzi tub but was difficult to get in and out of due to the set up - the tub and shower were one piece. The bed was comfortable but felt small for being advertised as a queen. We spent a total of 2 nights and never saw someone at the reception desk. We did see housekeeping in the halls but we were not greeted by either of them. The only time we spoke to a member of the staff was when we were checking out. When we left our room on the 4th floor there was a housekeeper in the hall. We walked right past her to the elevator. Once we got to the main level we had to figure out how to check out because no one was at the desk. They had a mailbox to leave the keys. As we were reading the directions the housekeeper we walked buy on the way out of our room came down and asked if we were checking out. We ended up leaving the keys with her. We booked the hotel through booking.com, we never got an actual receipt from the hotel. We spent $259 a night and was definitely not worth the money. The only plus about the hotel was how close it was to the beach. Apparently there was free WIFI but it was non-existent, usually there is info about that in the room which there wasn't. I would not recommend this hotel. For $259 a night we had to pay to park and this hotel does not offer breakfast which was disapointing. Overall a disappointment.

Great weekend in YorkA big Thank You to the Atlantic House Inn in York Beach. We had a great weekend there, the General manager Dan was extremely helpful and very responsive. Dave his assistant was very friendly, helpful and professional. Our check in was flawless, our stay was perfect. We cannot wait to come back. Thank you all.

Location, location, location!Yes indeed! Directly across from the beach, in the middle of the town square, and part of the same building that houses the Piano Bar! Reasonable rates, clean nice rooms with a jacuzzi tub. We stayed there the last weekend in July 2019, and we had a great time. I must say that "Dan the Hotel Man" (the manager and a frequent singer at the Piano Bar) was truly an amazing host! This hotel, due to the age and location, has no parking lot. We used the public spaces on the street out front of the hotel. The Town of York charges $2.00 per hour but it is free from 10pm to 8am. A very minor hassle when you look at the whole picture. We enjoyed the Piano Bar two nights, and when the entertainment was over we just got on the elevator and went up to our room. The entertainment ends at midnight, so if you are an early-to-bed person, it might be annoying because you can hear the music from the room. But we enjoyed the music so much we stayed both nights till midnight (and we are in our sixties). We will be returning!

General Manager Dan is great! My family and I have stayed at the Atlantic now many times. Each year we go back because it is so centrally located at York Beach. You can walk out their front door and be right near the water and all the shops. Without question one of the best things about the AH is Dan the GM. Sweetest guy in the world who will do all that he can to make your stay a pleasant one. Any time we have asked him for something he was right on it. The rooms are nice and the staff is courteous and helpful. The one thing I have learned when booking a room during peak months is find a room that is not over or near the lounge on the second floor. It is loud, like some of the negative reviews say, but if you let Dan know, he can put you in a room that will be unaffected by the noise. That's what we do. All in all a great experience. Thank you Dan for your kindness.

LocationThe star of this place is GM Dan. From my first phone call to meeting him. He's an asset to the place. So personable. If you stay here, you get a great location. Walk out of the building, you are in the shops and so close to the beach. Of course, this can be a negative, as I did have a hard time sleeping as the beach groomers started super early. You are also above restaurants and a singer if he's performing, which are noisy. We had a Queen suite. It was super nice. Only complaint was the bed. My back hurt from it. I feel that needs to be upgraded.
