Lovely staff and foodI would normally give the hotel a bad review, however it had a very nice atmosphere and the staff were lovely which counts for a lot. Otherwise, I could mention the fact the loo didn't flush, there is only enough hot water for one shower (then you need to heat the water again, there is a switch to do this), the curtains don't meet, the wifi is bad and there was a pair of trainers left on the window sill of our room (Room 105). There was never anyone on reception. However to be fair the hotel was exceptionally busy and at all times the food was very good.

Lovely place in the mountainsWe spent two nights here. We were made very welcome by the owners and their team, Our room was a decent size, modern and clean. There is enough hot water for two people (heated by a boiler in the bathroom). No hairdryer. Our bed dipped in the middle so not as comfortable as it could have been. Only one free socket for charging. The breakfast is reasonable: breads and eggs are available. There are no other restaurants in the village but you can eat at the hotel. The hotel is located in beautiful, unspoilt, peaceful countryside and the owner can help you with walking routes. You would probably need a car. It is about a 2.5 hour drive from Skopje.

Overnight at Hotel KalinA real local experience, friendly staff, good food and comfortable beds. The people at the hotel are super friendly and showed us real local Mountain hospitality. We went on a hike in the local mountains met some people from the village and ate and drank with them in the afternoon.

Not worh the moneyThis hotel is situated in the hills in a small village with just a shop and this hotel. My first thought was "it's not clean". There was general rubbish outside, the reception desk was chaotic and the stairs we were shown up were dirty. The room was full of dark brown 1950s furniture. The bathroom was very old fashioned with a torn plastic shower curtain and the door handle falling off. The bed was very uncomfortable with springs coming through so we had to turn the mattress over to make it a bit better. The pillows shrunk to nothing. Part of the bed fell apart and the manager had to come and do a running repair to the base which was a jumble of broken struts. As we were the only guests in the hotel I assume we were not given the worst room so I expect the other rooms are the same. There was only WiFi in the reception area. Dinner was poor. There is no good cooking here just something quickly fried with chips. Breakfast was an omelette. I am not really sure why anyone would want to stay in this hotel.

Resting the soulIn the center of the Lazaropole, village on Bistra mountain, at 1300 m. above the sea, you can find Hotel Kalin, nice, quite and peaceful place with great food and extremely kind staff. The real place to escape from the big city rush and to breath with full lungs.
