Special Birthday holiday/ break trip to "The Chalet Guesthouse & Studio, Blue Mountains . . ."The Chalet Guesthouse and Studio was an absolute delight to stay at again in late August to early September, 2020. A very welcoming and warm venue. *Note: Social distancing was honoured at this venue at all times. Also hand sanitiser was available at different points in the hallway, etc. for the guests to use. David S. ( Manager) kindly picked us up from Mellow Bath station on Saturday afternoon and drove us to "The Chalet. The customer service by David S. was very attentive and the Saturday night dinner was also very good service with our food and beverage details met without a problem. This was my special Birthday occasion stay and I had a wonderful time. Thanks to the hosts David S. and David M. who were very generous and gave me a gift box of almond & coconut delights! Thank you guys. Our Restaurant dinner meals were delicious and the wine was also very good. Top marks to the Chef for his skills, menu choice and fab presentation of all meals. We loved the whole dinner experience. Top quality produce is consistent with all the meals we enjoyed. The roaring open fire at night was very welcome in the Restaurant / lounge room. The Restaurant menu for Friday & Saturday dinners changes regularly. This Restaurant is also open to the public to book for the Friday & Saturday dinners. The daily breakfasts were adequate and our request for almond milk was no problem at all. Cereals, fruits, toasts, jam, Vegemite, peanut butter and marmalade were all available to enjoy. Also tea and plunger coffee was offered. This was all included in the price, however if you pre -order a cooked breakfast then this is an extra charge. Our stay was approx. 20 minutes walk from Medlow Bath station and we enjoyed the walks to and from to explore other regions including Blackheath ( good Art Day Gallery, also Warrigil Studio Gallery" by John Caldwell, shops, Gleebooks bookshop & cafe, deli, gourmet cafes, etc.) and Leura ( good " boutique shopping). *Note: We found that Room 4 at The Chalet was very spacious and warm with the heating on at this cold time visited. The bed was very comfortable and the wet room was easy access for anyone with a mobility situation. The toiletries were very nice. All the linen was very good quality. This place is very clean and the accomodation is a very good standard. The garden with gorgeous flowering trees, sculptures and singing birds, etc. is a treat for walking in and taking photos also. The extensive Art Collection throughout the premises is very interesting and covers a diverse range of artists and skill standards. David Middlebrook ( Owner/Artist) also has some of his works to view. We thoroughly enjoyed this very relaxing, friendly holiday stay and we had some very interesting conversations with the owners on each day. We will definitely be booking to return to this Medlow Bath ( Blue Mountains) gem in the near future. Thank you to David Scotman and David Middlebrook for your generous and wonderful hospitality again on this special occasion visit for us. Keep healthy and safe. Cheers, Andrea & Angelo (Leichhardt, NSW)

Quaint and cosy getawayWhat a quaint and cosy guesthouse! Weve never stayed anywhere like it. It takes me back to a bygone ear. The rooms are so cosy and also very clean. The hospitality is top notch and so welcoming. Will definitely be back and recommending to friends! Importantly, this place follows all the Covid-safe guidelines and there are hand sanitisers everywhere .

Perfect overnight stay...We stayed here overnight and received a very warm welcome, the guest house has an eclectic charm, which I would liken to staying in someone's home. The room was bright and beautifully decorated, with a small area to sit and relax as you entered the room. We ate at the restaurant during our stay and the meal was very good, plus the ambiance of the restaurant made for a very enjoyable relaxed evening. I would have no hesitation in returning to stay again, this was a very enjoyable break in a very busy week.

Family weekend getawayStayed in the family room at the chalet guesthouse and studio. From the phone booking to arrival and our whole weekend staying here, the hospitality and service was above and beyond. Its is such a lovely warm, welcome and cosy place making you feel right at home the minute you step through the door. With so much amazing artwork and knicknacks to look at, its easy to get lost in the atmosphere. Not only were our needs accommodated for, our children were treated the same. Each night the aromas coming from the inhouse restaurant put your scenses into overdrive. I would highly recommend staying here and will definately be returning. The hosts make the experience most memorable. All covoid regulations were followed with sanitizer conveniently places throughout the guesthouse.

Bad BehaviourThis was our 2nd stay. Last Christmas and this. We had also rebooked while there for next Christmas. Due to covid-19, breakfast was served by one of the owners to the table. Every morning the co-owner, David, would give his opinion about his political persuasion. By day 5 and our last day, I advised of some of the good things David's opposed political persuasion had accomplished. Well, David packed up his laptop, walked back to our table and ranted, no Christmas booking for you next year. We received a cancellation emailed before we left the property and no sign of rude, opinionated David.
