  Great place to stay

  We stayed three nights in a family room and everything was just great. Room was tastefully done with lots of whitewash walls, nice linen and comfortable chairs on the deck. Pub has great food and beer with a peaceful garden right on the river and lots of shade. Friendly staff, good prices and bang opposite a fantastic secondhand bookshop. Amazing drives around the Clarence River area. Highly recommended.

  Excellent location

  Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms basic but clean and comfortable beds. Wonderful to have drinks and a meal watching the sunset on the beautiful Clarence River. Great town full of history and great collectables shopping.

  Beautiful, historic Australian pub.

  We loved this place. The pub has been carefully restored without changing its original charm. It is simple, comfortable and located next to the mighty Clarence River making it a wonderfully restful location. The food was great, in particular the desserts. Try the macadamia, salted caramel tart, if available. Divine! Will definitely be back!

  Quaint and Quiet. A little gem !

  The beer garden is delightful. The rooms are a good size and clean . The bed was very comfortable with beautiful linen. There are several shared toilets and showers to accomodate the 7 rooms so you don't have to wait. The veranda is perfect to have a sunset drink as well. We were there on a Thursday night, the pub did close early so it was amazingly quiet.

  weekend stay

  This is such an awesome hotel. The staff are fantastic and so is the food and the accommodation. I love this hotel. The cleanliness is above any 5 star resort its an amazing stay. The view over the river is fantastic and the town is so interesting with great shops and an awesome gallery.
