    Would not recommend.

Would not recommend due to very poor service. Nowhere during the booking process or on the confirmation email is it mentioned that check in is not actually at the Sheil Suites building, but at a different hotel 15/20 minutes walk away. We had to ring the main reception to find this out, and were then given an incorrect address and not the name of the hotel leading us to go to an unrelated residential property first. There are no keys for the building or rooms, just combination locks which we were given codes for at the other hotel. This combined with a lack of deadbolts or another way to lock the rooms from the inside made the stay feel unsafe. On the confirmation email it is stated that 20% of the booking cost will be taken on the day of booking, and the remaining amount will be taken 7 days prior to arrival. This was not the case and we were actually charged the full amount on check in - the staff had no way to verify if any payment had already been taken and we were told we would need to contact them afterwards if we had been overcharged. When we finally got into the room, it had been made up as a twin when we had requested a double, and no towels had been provided apart from two hand towels. The shower was cold and both the shower and bathroom doors did not close properly.

    Not a great stay

Arrived in the evening and couldn't work out how to get u Into building. Saw a sign on railings on the path which mentioned another hotel. So we drove to there to find that's were you check in There is no parking so you have to pull up onto the pavement and hope you don't get clamped, that's what we were told. Our room was upstairs but the lighting on the stairs wasn't working so we had to use the torch on our mobiles Room was fine and clean. But they supplied tea and coffee but all our milks had gone off and were solid so couldnt have a drink, which would have been nice after a long drive

Quite easily the worst night away iv'e ever had

Please don't do what we did and try and scrimp on hotel costs. Every hotel in the city was priced around £150 for the night we stayed, we had an email from Booking.com stating that there was a bargain hotel available for £55, after a quick look at the location and the pictures we decided that it should be OK. It wasn't, it really wasn't. We arrived at around 13.30 and after 10 minutes of trying to find out where the hell to check in, we were greeted by a rather polite polish lady that worked for the hotel that informed us we needed to check in a separate hotel to get a code for our room. This other hotel was a 20 minute walk away. A little bit annoying but not the end of the world. We carted our luggage down to the other hotel and was greeted by a very patronising guy behind reception who told us we couldn't check in until 3 O clock, but it's ok because children are starving in Africa.... We asked if we could check in at 2 minutes to 3 and this chap made us wait the extra 2 minutes, with a cocky grin on his face. We then got given a code for our room (no keys) which anyone who has stayed in that room in the last 12 month still could easily gain access to the room at any time. We later found out that the area itself is one of the roughest about, so much so that there is a documentary on the BBC about the prostitution and anti social behaviour in the area. Our room was room 1 which was on the ground floor at the back of the property. We walked round the back and into the over grown garden accross the old rotten decking. We put the code into the door and walked into the hallway which absolutly stunk like stale urine. So much so that we had to take a breath of fresh air before entered back in to access our room. The room wasn't too bad, we had 2 single beds that seemed to be clean, but was as expected very basic. We didn't dare have a drink from the kettle and the TV didn't work. The shower was just about adequate. Over all we thought the organisation was terrible, the staff were awful and the hotel was disgusting. Please have some self respect and do not stay here.

    Over night stay

Decor was fine but what was a shocker was no hot water in the sink or shower, got back to the room late so I didn't want disturbing so I wasn't asking anyone to fix it at midnight. 6 months ago the price was £40 for one night, I came to liverpool for a bonjovi concert and the price was lifted to £130, ripped off. Wont stay there again ....my advice go elsewhere.

    1 night stay

Stayed for one night. Room very clean and well laid out and presented. One of the single beds was very uncomfortable and very soft so made for an uncomfortable night. There is a lack of shelves to put things on in bathroom.
