  Very Relaxing Stay

  Everything about this hotel was great. The hotel is located right on the water and my room had a great view from the balcony. The hotel is right along the Lungomare walking path and within walking distance of good restaurants. The breakfast was my favorite of all the hotels I stayed in in Croatia.

  Nice hotel

  It is a nice hotel to spend some 2 or 3 days. There are a privet beach with bar and restaurant..the staff are really nice and polite. There are indoor and outdoor pool. Close to the restaurants and tourist area. You can have good time there.

  Great Breakfast Buffet!

  My husband and I stayed at Hotel Savoy for 2 nights in July. The hotel location is quite good. Right on the water and rooms with balconies and views available. Very beautiful place to stay! Parking is a short distance away at a garage, the hotel will provide you with a voucher when you check out for a cheaper price. You can park near the hotel to drop off and pick up your luggage and then go park. The hotel is beautiful and the room is too, although a bit small. We found the air conditioning to be not very good. It was hot in the room even at night with the air conditioning turned on the entire time. The temperature in the room was always 23-25 degrees! The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on at a hotel. I found myself googling the hotel and room types at 5am because if some rooms seemed to have better beds I was planning to upgrade. Unfortunately it seemed all rooms probably had the same issue. We visited the hotel night club/bar the next night, which we really liked, and the alcohol made the uncomfortable bed much easier to sleep on, haha. I read some reviews that complained about the noise from the night club which is located below the hotel. We could see the nightclub from our balcony and outside it was loud but we didn't have any issues with noise when the door was closed, I think I could hear some music if I listened but only very slightly. I didn't personally find noise to be an issue, our room was only on the first floor too, so we were quite close and my husband has really good hearing but also said that with the doors closed it was totally fine. We loved the breakfast buffet! It even had fresh honey comb! It was definitely the highlight of the stay (I love breakfast!) and offered a very large variety of things. The hotel also had an indoor pool and outdoor pool, which we didnt have time to take advantage of, but it looked nice and never busy. We had been looking forward to the hotels private beach (on cement, which is very common in Croatia), but it was closed at night for the night club. That was a little disappointing as we never saw any indication of it being closed at night. We are both night owls and would have enjoyed hanging out on the private beach during the evening, but it was understandable. Instead we sat at one of the tables located on what would have been the private beach haha, and ordered drinks, we enjoyed the company of some other people and it worked out fine. The drinks were both strong and delicious! The nightclub being on-site was a plus for us, I could see some people preferring something more quiet, but as said before, inside our room and the hotel was fine noise-wise. I cant say we would stay here again, the weak A/C and uncomfortable bed were deal breakers for us. Depending on the time of year A/C might not matter as much, it was very hot when we were there so unless you have a very powerful air conditioner there probably isn't much you can do about the temperature. Everything else was good, especially breakfast!

  Excellent hotel to rejuvenate yourself.

  We had a spectacular view from our King room balcony. Location was excellent. We made use of the pool and the easy access to their private beach to swim in the Adriatic Sea. We wished we had booked for two nights after we arrived. Breakfast buffet was outstanding. Staff was very friendly and helpful and provided excellent service. We prolonged our stay as long as we could before heading back on the road. Highly recommend this hotel.

  waiter in hotel owners bar (colosseum) hit us

  We went to the bar Colosseum, same ownership as Savoy hotel in Opatija. It was around 21.30, we asked if they were still open for food, which they were, we ordered quickly, one burger each a salad and one drink each. Just before we finished the food, our weighter asked if we could pay. Which we did politely. Then 3-5 min later we were told that we need to finish because they are closing and they had to remove everything from the table. So we pass the plates etc towards the end of the table for easy reach of waiter. We finish our drink and 1-3 minutes later he comes back screaming, shouting and swearing at us, he threatned us with a large metal stick and before we even made it out of the chairs, he hit my partner with this stick. We stood up, question the situation, but he was boiling, rude and it was even scary to see. Another young buzz boy, had to come inbetween and thank god because i am not sure how this would have ended from him. Terrible service, but really, I would never go there again and I hope that actions are taken accordingly. We were rudly asked to leave when they were closing.
