    A step back in time

We stayed in the Carriage House, which is done in Victorian style. The main house is a lovely example of the era with marvelous woodwork and period furniture. The owner is wonderfully friendly and informative. We enjoyed our night's stay. The house is easy to find and provides a nice change from just another hotel room.

    Motorcycle trip

The original details in the home are fantastic. The stain glass is gorgeous and in perfect condition. The tile surround and fireplace mantel in the sitting room is outstanding. Warren and his wife have done a great job making this home special. Warren was very accommodating with a few special requests we had. We didn't stay in the main house, we stayed in one of the carriage house rooms. Even though the room is a non-smoking room there was the lingering odor of cigarette smoke. The mattress while not uncomfortable does need to be replaced as it squeaks and makes noises. We liked that there was a refrigerator, coffee pot and microwave in the room. We used the hot tub which was a nice bonus. For breakfast one morning we had what I think was called a Dutch Baby. An egg dish with whipped cream and peaches. It was different but very good. It is evident that Warren enjoys his role as an innkeeper and that he tries his best to make your visit a good one. If we are ever in Harrison again this is where we will stay.

    wonderful Victorian close to town

My 3 cousins and I stayed in this lovely house in Oct. We had the whole house to ourselves. The owner lived next door. We couldn't figure out how to light the gas fireplace one night, he came over right away to help us. The house was big enough for several others, but it was nice for each of us to each have our own little room. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, but very close to town. This was so much better than a hotel. The house added to the enjoyable experience we had in this pretty area.

Carriage House rooms are overpriced hotel rooms

My husband and I stayed in the King room at the Carriage House and his friend stayed in the Carriage House room. From the description, I mistakenly thought we had a whole house with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms behind the main house. What we got instead was 2 separate musty smelling hotel rooms side by side. Warren was as nice as could be, but when I called to make the reservation and we discussed breakfast, I tried telling him we would be fine with something as simple as pancakes, bacon, fruit and juice and that my husband didn't like egg dishes. He was set on making Dutch Baby, which I'd never heard of, and is made with eggs. He also served sausage and grits. We didn't care for any of it but, since we paid for it, ate it since we were going hiking. Evening dessert was cheesecake, which was good, but the complimentary beverages spoken of on their website must only be milk or orange juice which was in the main house refrigerator, so no soft drinks as I was expecting. The main house was lovely but, since we didn't stay in it, I didn't really feel we were at a bed and breakfast and wished I had saved the $150+ we paid after taxes. There was one other couple staying that night and the lady said their room in the main house was creepy and she felt like someone was touching her during the night. After our stay I read that maybe the house is haunted??? I enjoy new experiences, but this one fell short compared with other B&B's we've stayed at.

    A Wonderful Stay

I stayed there for 3 nights in September 2019 when I was in Harrison to teach a class. Warren was a great, friendly host and historian of the town. Not only were the breakfasts very good, he graciously accommodated my schedule by having it prepared early. I stayed in the carriage house which was quaintly decorated with parking just behind the building. As I regularly travel for work, it is a nice break to find such a nice BnB. I hope to return with my husband sometime in the future.
