  Good short stay venue

  We have used the Red Lion a number of times in the last five or six years and have rarely been disappointed. This time was no exception. The Covid procedures were well-prepared and executed, the staff were generally friendly, especially in the restaurant, and our refurbished room was ideal for two nights. The bed was very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant on our first night, and enjoyed a reasonably priced and satisfactory two-course dinner. Breakfast was, of course, entirely table-served, but the choice was almost as good as pre-Covid times. Im sure wed go back.

  TOP TAKE AWAY! MONEY WELL SPENT

  I Will definitely be back next Sunday To buy another take away roast dinner. My roast was hot, presented well, decently portioned, had all the best trimmings, the lamb fell off the bone and he vegetables were perfectly cooked, and all for a reasonable price.

  Excellent

  Called for lunch. Staff very friendly and relaxed despite the need for social distancing etc etc. Service was excellent and the food beautifully presented and well worth the money. Husbands sourdough sandwich was huge! My soup was just lovely and with exactly the right amount of spice. We also had very good coffees. Thank you to all. We enjoyed our meal so much we have booked a ore Christmas lunch with you.

  Lovely.

  Welcomed by member of staff on a wet Friday evening. We booked a table in the restaurant, table was as requested. We visit about once a month usually lunch timeish but have stated to visit in the evening's. The Spanish Restaurant manager is EXCELLENT and very friendly (sorry forgot her name!) and she deserves to be recognised. The food was good and the service great. Well done .

  Fantastic service as always

  Family came down to visit si we popped into one our favourite pubs with them on a Saturday afternoon. From the manager greeting us at the door to the young lady that served us, the service was impeccable. Highly recommended. Our favourite local. Hats off to the staff. Cheers!
