  Loved It Despite Recent Lower Reviews

  I was a little apprehensive about our stay here since there have been so many negative reviews recently about the hotel being outdated, noisy, and overrun by kids. Yes, this is an absolutely wonderful place to stay if you have a family with young children, but I still loved staying here with just my husband. Ok, maybe I have a different outlook, because we have 2 young boys of our own (whom we traveled without). But I felt that the hotel grounds were so beautiful and expansive. They also had many areas that were fine for couples to hang out in without screaming children running around them. The adult pool was a lovely place to chill. Granted you have to rent their tanning beds/lounge chairs for a ridiculous 11,000 won per hour (around $10 USD), but I guess it keeps them open for those who really want to use them instead of people that claim their chairs by placing towels on them buy never really using them. We never had the need to use them anyways, because the pool was the PERFECT temperature! It stays at a constant 86 degrees F/ 30 C. They also have a nice locker/shower room where you can store your clothes, use their (uncomfortable) sandals and bath robes. Service was excellent and everyone was extremely friendly! We don't speak any Korean, but we didn't run into any issues. Downside - everything at the hotel is extremely expensive! All the restaurants, bars and stores are way overpriced, but I expect that will all luxury resorts. Luckily our room came with complimentary breakfast, which was probably covered by the expensive room cost. There were 2 great options though - a Korean restaurant and the buffet. I liked both of them. The Korean restaurant had less options, but it was less crowded and the quality was top-notch. Everything was simple yet so delicious and perfectly prepared! The buffet had an excellent variety of foods...something for everyone. They had several different stations - Western, Asian/Korean, Noodle soup bar, Omelettes, dessert. I think it's worth the money, if you're looking for a hearty breakfast. My suggestion would just be to eat outside of the hotel. There are many great options nearby (not so much walking distance), but if you eat an early dinner and get back by 7, there's still parking available. Parking can be hard to come by later at night. Regarding all the complaints about loud and annoying music being played - I actually enjoyed the live entertainment. Yes, it is a bit loud, but it ends by 10pm. They also hire well trained singers. Regarding the hotel being outdated and old - Yes, the design is a little outdated, but it still felt luxurious and relaxing to me. Everything was very clean and well kept. My room had no issues with peeling wallpaper or moldy smells (as others have complained about). We stayed in an ocean view room, which was closer to the middle of the resort. The view of the pool area, hotel grounds, and ocean was breathtaking and wonderful to wake up to. Our room was also extremely spacious, especially the bathroom. Anyhow, I loved this resort and would definitely stay there again, if I ever found myself back in Jeju.

  A place for a family

  We visit Jeju Shilla everytime we go to the island. We love how it is accomodative especially for the kids. The barbeque camp is superb and the outdoor pool is just the right temp even during winter. We would almost definitely go here again

  . 3 . . . .. . . , , , , 1 . . S , , , , , , , . . . ... . We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It was very comfortable and relaxing. We booked a Premier Double Room that came with a terrace that had great views of the ocean. We also had access to Lounge S. The room was spacious and warm. I liked this point because the weather on Jeju Island was cold during our stay. The housekeeper was very kind, too. Sometimes, we drank coffee on our terrace and we could see the ocean or the swimming pools below. The Shilla Jeju Hotel has spacious walkways and beaches. The hotel also has a fitness center, a PlayStation room, and swimming pools. If you have children, this hotel is a good choice.

  The best stay

  I'm going to Shilla Jeju Hotel in October. This experience has been incredible. Everything was perfect. The staff, the hotel, my room, the restaurant and the pool.   My room was really big and I did not get a very expensive room, I did not expect that but it was a VERY nice surprise. I saw a lot of reviews of the hotel, some said it was too old. I found the hotel normal, some furniture could possibly be changed to new, but in general everything was in good condition and not worn. it is not a modern art hotel but I liked this side a bit more rustic.   The restaurant was really great, I had breakfast for every morning of my stay and also tried the Korean restaurant. The employees, the food all (again) was perfect. You have a very large choice for breakfast at the buffet restaurant which is really good. The pool for the adults and the other big pool was really great. The water is hot, so it was really nice to swim in these pools. I also rented a small private cabana at the adult pool and again it was really great. They have a lot of staff to check the pool so it was safe. In the end, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a zen and relaxing stay. I will return to this hotel without hesitation.
