  Good value, nothing special

  Our business partner recomandet this hotel as the best one in the village. So we followed the recommendation. The rooms are distributed on first and second floor. People with walking disability should ask for a room on the first floor. It seems the rooms are different in terms of interior and refurbish state. The one I had was rather nicely decorated and refurbished. The beds were old fashioned but the mattress was obviously new and comfortable. The bathroom was of sufficient size for two. Rather plain but clean and in good condition. My colleague`s room was in a fairly old style but yet clean and comfortable. Check in was quick but the receptionist (even though there is no real reception), who is at the same time a waitress, could have been a bit more friendly. A simple smile sometimes does miracles, even in Franconia. In Summer, you can sit in the big garden if you are on the first floor. Most of other rooms seem have a balcony. The location of the hotel is really quiet and so are the rooms. A flat screen TV was available at least in my room. The breakfast was OK considering the price. WiFi was stable and fast. Check out was also OK, credit cards are taken but you have to pay the in the restaurant (we did not try it) which is quite cumbersome if you have a lot of luggage. The Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten is definitely not a holiday spot but if you are looking for a clean and quiet environment for one night only or business travel at good value this is the place to be.

  If you need a basic room

  If you are a non-German, you may find this "boutique" (aka, small) hotel to be quaint; if you are German, you may just find it to be functional. The rooms are very basic but clean and in fine repair; for the price, it is not at all a bad value. It is within walking distance to the center of the typically cute German town of Bad Königshofen and the handful of restaurants - but it might seem far in January. Be aware that Thursday is their day off, so the front desk is unmanned (but they'll get you into your room) and they don't speak English. I speak only very rudimentary German and was able to take care of everything with minimal difficulty, but if you don't, bring your Google translator.
