    Not able to check in

We booked the hostel the morning that we were planning on staying and arrived between 11 o'clock and midnight as previously selected when booking. Upon arrival we were unable to check in as reception was closed. We called the number on the door and were told sorry, you'll have to find alternative accommodation. At this point the hostel had already taken payment. We spoke to reception the following day and were told it was impossible as they had e-mailed us the day before (whilst we were travelling and therefore unable to access our emails) When we looked at the emails we had received an email saying that we needed to agree, in writing, to the hostel taking out money before arrival, however the hostel had in fact already taken our money! Complete shambles, it needs to be communicated on the booking agents website that you must contact the hostel if you wish to check in after 8pm. However, that said, location is good and the wifi works!

    Reeperbahn special

Well, the main photo of this place that TripAdvisor uses is not actually the photo of the hostel. Would we have booked it if we knew what it actually looked like? Possibly, but still, did feel a bit mislead. This place probably only gets business because it's cheap, can cater for large stag parties, and it's close to the action of the Reeperbahn. Like the Reeperbahn, it's not the smartest or cleanest place to stay - but that's the point I suppose. Staff were friendly, and obviously used to dealing with large groups of boisterous semi-drunk people - German humour can be cutting! Opening hours of the reception were a bit hard to fathom, and most of the utilities were locked in there (iron, hairdryer etc.). Rooms were adequate - but rickety in places, and would not win any awards. Showers fantastic though, to wash off the night before. Would I stay here again? In the right circumstances I suppose.

Close to Reeperbahn, but that's it...

The hostel is very close to Hamburg's famous Reeperbahn and also in walking distance of metro station St. Pauli but that's it. You might as well sleep just in the streets, it might become less complicated... First it's impossible to check in nor out at the given reception opening hours. You just have to be lucky to find someone at the reception the moment you need it. After 8pm, there's just no person in charge left at the hostel. Which could be quite fine, but this also meant that nobody could stop all those drunk British teens from partying all night long... which also could have been fine when it wasn't for those thin walls and the fact you had to get out of the room to get to your private bathroom... which was okay, clean and not as that bad considering the fact you stayed in a party hostel. Well at least one good thing at the end! Oh, you can get great coffee just across the street! No joke, it's really good.

    Close to Reeperbahmn

Stayed here for a stag do. nothing special but was a bed to put your head down after a heavy night. Rooms are basic..Watch our for the triple bunks...not great when your blootered! No curtains in the room so was pretty bright in the room.

Very accessible to the metro station

The hostel is located within the Reeperbahn - there are many pubs along the entire stretch. The room is very simple - a 3-tier bunker bed, a small table, a TV, a fridge and a bathroom. Note that sound insulation is poor - we heard drunks & partying people next door, arriving home at around 3-5am. Wifi connection is intermittent.
