  Systa is great!

  We have gone to Iceland twice in the past 5 years and stayed at Kalli's apartments both times. Systa was a great host, picking us up from the bus station and even taking us to the grocery store on the way to the apartment. The apartments are in a great location and very comfortable. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip.

  One of the best apartment hotels in Iceland

  Kallis apartments are full features efficiency apartments with kitchenette area to eat, bed shower etc. from hair dryer to charming fixtures and linens. Free wifi and access to washing machine make this a complete package Even though you can make your own breakfast, a recently opened coffee shop in the basement of the adjoining building is a great addition to the neighborhood. You can walk into town in minutes and there's a good sized supermarket just down the street Good parking - still free til the city converts this neighborhood like most of the others.

  Superb cosy well located apartments

  We had an amazing time in Iceland and we can't wait to return. We would definitely stay in these apartments again. Systa was really friendly and helpful. The top floor apartment was clean, well equipped and wonderfully cosy. We could see the famous church from our window. Mint it was. The location was ideal with the main Street only 2 minutes walk away. Absolutely Bostin.

  Perfect home from home to explore iceland

  Perfect place home from home to explore Iceland. Location great very close to city centre. Systa guest house owner very helpful and welcoming and gave lots of great advice. Apartment clean spacious and very homely! If we return we will be staying here again :) thank you Systa xx

  OK but some issues

  The owner, Systa, is very friendly and came to pick us up from the bus station in Reykjavik when we got the bus from the airport. The apartment we had was full of 'character' but we hadn't thought to ask on what floor it was located. It turned out to be on the third floor and there was no lift. The apartment block is also up a slight hill when walking from the town centre so by the time we'd navigated that hill then walked up three floors we were exhausted! (OK, we're getting on a bit and young people would be fine but anyone with mobility issues should think about this). The bedroom was very small and the blackout curtains didn't quite fit the window so we had to construct more blackout by putting a coat over the space where the curtains didn't meet - of course this wouldn't be a problem in the winter but with only a couple of hours of darkness in the summer, it was. Others have said it's 5 to 10 minutes to the town centre but it's more like half an hour to the actual centre near the Parliament Building and Old Harbour. Good free wifi and fully fitted kitchen in the sitting room. By the way, hot water in Iceland is geothermal so when you shower you get a smell of rotten eggs - I assume all showers in the country are like this!
