  Modest and comfortable

  Large room with comfy beds, cleaner was constantly coming through doing the floors and bathrooms so everything was spotless. The shower curtain mentioned in other reviews has clearly been replaced as new ones in all bathrooms. No issues whatsoever except guests tend to gather in the kitchen which can be a little loud and 'hostel-like' at times, but nothing the guesthouse can do as no staff on site apart from cleaner

  Comfortable visit

  We stayed 3 nights in this guesthouse and would definitely go back. Its a perfect location in the city. The place was kept very clean, beds comfortable and even though it was sold out when we were there it was nice and quiet.

  Big room, clean, warm, just sharing a bathroom and kitchen sucks a little

  The beds are comfy, the rooms are very spacious and the heating is brilliant. Someone comes over to let you in and hand you your key then you are just left to it. Kitchen has sink, kettle, fridges, toaster and hobs which is great. Bathroom is shared and shower is small which is why we knocked off a star. Very good location. Parking free after 6pm until 9am.

  Don't stay there

  Booked a room and paid for it in advance. On arrival noone was there to welcome us or check in with. No one answering phone either despite numerous attempts. After lots of messing around it turns out a hotel down the road helps with keys and when we eventually got a key, and walked back we found our room was occupied and they had double booked the rooms. No apologies from Skolabru and to this day no communication despite emails from us. We would argue that the photos are not a true reflection of the state of the house. The website looks lovely but inside it is shabby, tired and my husband noticed the shared shower wasnt working properly either. Be warned!

  Great stay

  Great location downtown Reykjavik. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Easy access from KEF via airport shuffle. My daughter and I stayed there in August 2018. If you book tours, it is easy to connect with tour buses.
