  Sad to see such a great place go downhill.

  Just checked into Oceanside Court #10. Roaches are coming out of the hot water heater. No on sight maintenance. Only answering service who could not do anything. Have stayed at this location for the past 10 Thanksgivings and never was this disappointed. Guess next year we will be looking for somewhere else to stay.

  Great location and price, but needs upgrades.

  We had a cottage and studio for our family at Thanksgiving. Check in was easy and the staff was helpful. However, while the kitchen was well supplied, the oven/stove in the cottage needed an upgrade, and the decor could use one as well. However, we were able to prepare a full Thanksgiving meal using kitchens in both the cottage and studio. Another thing was those in the cottage needed the space heaters provided, but when the space heaters were all turned on during a cold night, they blew the breakers. I felt the electrical wiring needed an upgrade as well. Otherwise, we had a great time. The property is right on the beach and in easy reach of many attractions.

  don't leave anything behind

  I would love to give this place a good review. Great beach access, great location in the midst of Outer Banks things to do and places to eat. Not high end, but nicely stocked kitchen, warm and cozy enuf in the late season, which is the only time I've visited. I've stayed 3 times in the past year but this last time may be my last. I stayed 2 weeks, which is a nice chunk of change for this company considering there is no housekeeping involved, unless you ask for more towels, t.p., things like that. But this last time I left a bag of new merchandise behind, close to $100 worth. I checked out on the 16th of November, and after calling several times, and then sending a letter, I have yet to get any other response other than "we'll let you know when we get a chance to look in our lost and found." During my stay there were very few other guests staying in the small row of cabins. It is a tiny property. But they are too busy, or disinterested to even bother calling me back, after I spent over $1000 dollars to stay here. Or else they are dishonest. I will never know I guess as I have received quite the royal brushoff.

  Sixty years ago when I was a child my family piled into a little old motels like this one. The advantage is a lot of beds, a living room and a kitchen near the beach. The disadvantage of this one is that it hasnt seen a makeover or even a good cleaning since I was a child. Words like ragged and grubby come to mind. The dishes in the kitchen were dirty. I know thats the responsibility of the prior residents but housekeeping should check. Our feet stuck to the linoleum and the carpet: Photo below of paper towel used to wipe up water on kitchen floor. Its great that they provided a flyswatter but I really hadnt wanted to spend my vacation killing flies and plunging a stopped up toilet. Its hard to keep a place clean near a beach but when I tried to open a window to freshen the place the sand and dirt were so thick on the windowsill I could barely touch it. The upholstery is not just stained but dirty. My friend covered the arm chair with towels before she would sit in it. Turning on the air conditioners caused the lights to flicker and dim and the number of extension cords made me nervous about fire risk. Also Kees is a remote property manager, so there is no one on site to answer questions or solve problems. Location near the beach is a plus but not a place Id ever go back to.

  Do not stay here!

  Found a huge cock roach in my room and found other bugs under my bed as well, when I called they would not give me a refund, I left even though it cost me over $1000 for the stay, I do not want this thing crawling on my while I sleep!
